For the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel from faith to faith, just as it is written, "The righteous by faith will live."

Lord, Help me to live by faith and not in my own deeds and my own works.

1:18-231:18-23

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth by their unrighteousness, because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes - his eternal power and divine nature - have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts were darkened. although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles.

It amazes me how so much of the world points to a creator and to God who has revealed Himself in creation.

3:10-233:10-23

"There is no one righteous, not even one, there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one." "Their throats are open graves, hey deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips." "Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” "Their feet are swift to shed blood, ruin and misery are in their paths, and the way of peace they have not known." "There is no fear of God before their eyes." Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For no one is declared righteous before him by the works of the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. But now apart from the law the righteousness of God (which is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed - namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  24But they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Thank God that though I have done many sinful deeds to God, due to my faith in God they are cancelled out and I am now a saint who sometimes sins. One who is declared righteous by my faith.

4:6-84:6-8

So even David himself speaks regarding the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:"Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the one against whom the Lord will never count sin."

Amen David! I am blessed in God for all He has done and all he has forgiven and all the covering of HIs blood that He did for my sins.

4:13-164:13-16

For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would inherit the world was not fulfilled through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if they become heirs by the law, faith is empty and the promise is nullified. For the law brings wrath, because where there is no law there is no transgression either. For this reason it is by faith so that it may be by grace, with the result that the promise may be certain to all the descendants - not only to those who are under the law, but also to those who have the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

Thank God that the Law is not what brings my salvation but it is my faith and when I believe in God (as I already have) I am accounted as righteous.

4:21-224:21-22

He was fully convinced that what God promised he was also able to do. So indeed it was credited to Abraham as righteousness.

Lord, help me to continue to believe in You and have faith

5:8-115:8-11

But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, because we have now been declared righteous by his blood, we will be saved through him from God's wrath. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, since we have been reconciled, will we be saved by his life? Not only this, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received this reconciliation.

How great it is that Christ was willing to die for people who no normal person (or other deity) would die for! Christ died for the worst of people. People who turned their back on Him and even killed Him. Yet His love pushed Himself through all the hardships and now we have redemption in the blood of Christ.

8:18-268:18-26For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us. For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility - not willingly but because of God who subjected it - in hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God's children. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now. Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies. For in hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with endurance. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how we should pray, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with inexpressible groanings.

This is how I feel like praying some of the time: with groaning and with words that I do not know how to pray with.

15:1-615:1-6

But we who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not just please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good to build him up. For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written, "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me." For everything that was written in former times was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and through encouragement of the scriptures we may have hope. Now may the God of endurance and comfort give you unity with one another in accordance with Christ Jesus, so that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord help me to not always be doing what is pleasing to myself but help me rather to lay my life down for your work. Have me forget about what I desire unless it can line up with Your will. I need to be increased in my faith and I want to have my “flesh” die and my spirit be as young as a child. Help and train me Lord.
