•God’s word is pure. Ps. 119:140 oTruth purifies when obeyed.

•Truth’s power to purify is jeopardized by error.

oWhen the word of God is polluted it will not sanctify & cleanse us from sin! Eph.5:26
Pure Lives Must Be Lived
•The church is not pure unless the lives of every Christian is pure. Revelation 3:4
o Pure in heart - 2 Tim. 2:22
o Pure in speech - Jas. 1:26
o Pure in deed - 2 Cor. 7:1

•Christ’s body must be pure!
Eph. 5:27oOnly the pure will be eternally saved.

•Purity of life is constantly
threatened:o By indifference - Hebrews 2:2-3o By worldliness - 1 John 2:15o By ungodly influences -1Cor.15:33
• Christians must maintain purity of life!
How?
o Word must dwell in us 1 Jn. 3:9; Ps. 119:11o Hope of heaven motivates us

Pure Love Must Be
Practiced• Christian love is a
tremendous responsibility!
o Must love God properly. Mt. 22:37; 1 Jn. 5:3
o Must love each other properly. Jn. 13:34
o As Christ loved us Eph. 5:25; 1 Jn. 3:16
• Pure love is always in danger:o From ignoring the needs of others.

Rom. 12:9-10; 1 Pet. 1:22 Pure love is learned &
developed by obeying the Word of Christ - Jn. 14:15

•We each have the responsibility for personal purity in these areas.
•As we each do our part – the church will be pure!
