Psalm 1

We must be separated from the world

(Psa 1:1 NIV) Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.• The world is anything that separates us from God or causes

us to disobey Him

We must be separated from the world

(1 John 2:15-16 NIV) Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world.

We Must be Saturated with the Word(Psa 1:2 NIV) But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

We Must be Saturated with the Word•Whatever delights us directs us•Meditation is to the spirit what digestion is to the body•When we meditate on the word, we allow the Spirit of God within us to “digest” the Word of God for us. Then it becomes source of spiritual nourishment for us

We Must be Situated by the Waters3.

(Psa 1:3 NIV) He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

•A tree is a blessing. It holds soil, provides shade and produces fruit. The godly are like trees, with root systems that go deep into the spiritual resources of God’s grace.•The person God can bless is planted by the rivers of water

Challenge

• God desires to bless us but we must meet His conditions for receiving blessings.• Be separate from the world and saturated with the

Word of God. • Be a recipient and a channel of blessing• May God bless us to make us a blessing to others
