'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:28-31).

+ResponseWe pray for a moist heart so that our leadership is aligned with God’s passionate love for the world. R. O God, hear our prayer.

We pray for a pure soul so that as leaders we can know our own identity, and so that we can enter into a deeper relationship with God, and with those we are called to serve and lead. R. O God, hear our prayer.

We pray for a clear mind, so that as leaders we can explore new perspectives, ask meaningful questions, and anchor our mindset on God’s gracious activity in the world. R. O God, hear our prayer.

We pray for strength, so that as leaders we exemplify spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental wholeness. R. O God, hear our prayer.

O God, we are confident you hear our prayers. We place our trust in you as our ultimate leader. Help us to align our leadership efforts with your purpose in the world, and in our particular communities of faith.

Guide our discussions today. Help us to learn the things we need to know in order to be effective leaders in faith formation.

As we journey through Lent toward the celebration of your ultimate act of love for the world, we pray these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.
