Matthew 9:14-17• Then the disciples of John came to Him,
saying, ’Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?’ And Jesus said to them, ‘Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.
Matthew 9:14-17• No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth
on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

1. Do not follow blindly without understanding.
a. Wedding banquet is a time of feasting and having merry.

b. Fasting is about encountering God and Jesus is the answer.

c. New wineskin represents the need of new mindset or paradigm shift in our thinking and doing thing.

serves nothing.• Isaiah 58:3 ‘Why have we fasted,
they say, and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?’

and ready to respond to it.• Zechariah 7:13 ‘Therefore it
happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen,’ says the LORD of hosts.

‘If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

• Matt 6:17 ‘But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face…….
• Fasting is an integral part of our relationship and ministry unto God.

• Matthew 17:21 ‘However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.’
• Could it be fasting and praying the answer and solution to our situation?
