The Lord knows the way of the RighteousPsalms 1

Psa 1:1-6 ESV Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the

wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

(2) but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he

meditates day and night. (3) He is like a tree planted by streams of

water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all

that he does, he prospers. (4) The wicked are not so, but are like chaff

that the wind drives away. (5) Therefore the wicked will not stand in the

judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; (6) for the

LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will

perish.

The Lord knows the way of the Righteous

Gen 5:24 ESV Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took

him.

Blessed are those who walks NOT in the Counsel of the Wicked

1Ki 16:31 ESV And as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the

sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, he took for his wife Jezebel the

daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal and

worshiped him.

Eph 5:8-9 ESV for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light

in the Lord. Walk as children of light (9) (for the fruit of light is found

in all that is good and right and true),

The Lord knows the way of the Righteous

Jos 1:7-8 ESV Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do

according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not

turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good

success wherever you go. (8) This Book of the Law shall not depart

from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you

may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you

will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Blessed are those who delight in the Law of the LORD

Jas 1:21-22 ESV Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant

wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able

to save your souls. (22) But be doers of the word, and not hearers only,

deceiving yourselves.

The Lord knows the way of the Righteous

Jer 17:7-8 ESV "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose

trust is the LORD. (8) He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out

its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves

remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not

cease to bear fruit."

Blessed are those who are like a tree planted by the streams of water

Joh 15:4-6 ESV Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear

fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you

abide in me. (5) I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in

me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can

do nothing. (6) If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a

branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire,

and burned.

The Wicked…Are NOT So (They are not blessed like the Righteous)

1. They walk in the counsel of the wicked.

2. They do not delight in the Law of the LORD.

3. They are not secured like a tree plant by a river.

Are like the chaff & will not stand in judgment

Rev 20:12-15 ESV And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before

the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened,

which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written

in the books, according to what they had done. (13) And the sea gave up

the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in

them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they

had done. (14) Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire.

This is the second death, the lake of fire. (15) And if anyone's name was

not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

The Lord Knows…The way of the Righteous

2Ti 2:19 ESV But God's firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: "The

Lord knows those who are his," and, "Let everyone who names the name

of the Lord depart from iniquity."

1Th 4:14-17 ESV For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again,

even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen

asleep. (15) For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we

who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede

those who have fallen asleep. (16) For the Lord himself will descend

from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and

with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise

first. (17) Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up

together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we

will always be with the Lord.

The Lord Knows…The way of the Wicked will Perish

2Th 1:7-9 ESV and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to

us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels

(8) in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God

and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. (9) They

will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence

of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

Does the Lord Know You?Mat 7:21-23 ESV "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will

enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father

who is in heaven. (22) On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord,

did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name,

and do many mighty works in your name?' (23) And then will I declare

to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'
