Death must come before life! v.24•This was true of Jesus to grow the plant of His one true church (Mt. 16:18). 30-33; Lk. 24:46-47

– He will save souls when they look to Him in faith & obey the gospel. John 3:13-16; Acts 2:38-39

•It is true of us to have eternal life with Him.– In this life we must die to self and live for Jesus,

i.e., hating our life. Luke 9:23; Rom. 6:3-6,11– Must die before we can live forever. 1 Cor. 15:35ff

• If we love our life we will lose it! But, if we hate our life in this world, we will keep it keep it foreverforever! v.25

• We have to give up, to get up!– What have you done (given up) for Jesus?

• Have you surrendered ALL? Luke 14:26-33• There is no profit if you don’t surrender all!

• Since Jesus did die, He shall produce much grain (many disciples). Hebrews 2:9

• Jesus purpose:– To leave us an example to follow. 1 Peter 2:21-ff– To glorify the Father v.28; John 17:1– To seek and save the lost Luke 19:10– To die for the sins of all who would believe on

Him. vv. 24,27,32; John 17:20; Mt. 26:28

• Since we have died to the old life of sin, (Have you?) we must let God use us to glorify Him. Col. 2:12-12; 3:1-3; Mt. 5:16

• Our purpose:– To fear God and keep His commandments.
