In Leviticus 1 We Saw That;
• God is Holy• Man is sinful• The cost of sin is huge• God allows a substitution• God alone provides the path/means of
substitution/reconciliation• The path/means of reconciliation is very costly and
very specific (narrow).• God in His grace provides a path of reconciliation for all
people (but only one).

• Leviticus receives its name from the Septuagint and means “relating to the Levites.”
• The Levites were the priests who were chosen of God to minister to the nation.
• The book of Leviticus contains many of the laws given by God to direct them in their work as priests for the worship of God.

Let’s Read Leviticus 3

Leviticus 3:1, A Peace-offering Jerusalem Inspiration
• Leviticus 3:1 'Now if his offering is a sacrifice of peace offerings, if he is going to offer out of the herd [cattle] , whether male or female, he shall offer it without defect before the LORD.
• Today's verse describes a peace-offering in the Temple times, known as a "korban sh’lamim." The name comes from the Hebrew root "shalom" - peace - because it has a spiritual ability to increase peace and unity in the world. It is offered voluntarily by a person who sincerely desires to express love and gratitude to the Almighty. It is perhaps not a coincidence that it is the only offering that is not restricted to the Temple, but may be eaten anywhere in the city of Jerusalem. The Hebrew name for Jerusalem, Yerushalayim, also has the word shalom at its root, and is beautifully known as the "ir shel shalom," city of peace. We pray for the time when peace and unity, symbolized by the korban sh'lamim, will return to Jerusalem and all of Israel.
Leviticus 3:4, The Liver
• Leviticus 3:4 and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and the lobe of the liver, which he shall remove with the kidneys.
• Leviticus refers to the “liver” more NAS X’s than any other book (4 X’s more). 9 X’s in Leviticus 3-9. Why is God concerned about the liver?
• Maybe it’s to draw our attention to it with modern understanding of the liver?
TODAY'S CREATION MOMENTYOUR BUSY LIVER
• An adult’s liver is about the size of a football and weighs about three pounds, making it the body’s largest internal organ. Tucked neatly beneath the ribs, your liver performs more than 500 different tasks. It is a vital link between your heart, lungs and digestive system.
Inside the liver is a bewildering array of microscopic veins in which each drop of blood is processed. Here, blood conditions are constantly monitored to make sure everything is up to standard. If more of certain

• substances are needed in the blood, they are supplied. Useless chemicals are broken down into useful chemicals. Proteins are made in the liver, blood-clotting factors are corrected, hormone balances are maintained, and poisons are neutralized. If substances are needed to fight an infection, they are produced and added to the blood.
• The liver also stores vitamins and minerals and prepares itself to provide your body with quick energy when you need it. In addition, the liver makes bile, which is essential for digestion.
• Structures like the liver have caused many evolutionists to abandon the idea that life is a result of millions of years of accidents. The liver is just too well designed and integrated into the body to have been produced by purposelessness and mindlessness. Surely it makes more sense to acknowledge a supremely wise Creator Who loves His Creation, including you and me.

Evolution And The Liver
• It’s a good idea to ask an evolutionist, “Which evolved first, the heart or the blood?”
• You could also ask “How long do you think life existed until the liver evolved?”
• Not to mention lungs, veins, arteries, kidneys, spleen, coagulation, hemorrhage.
Leviticus 3:6, Peace Offering From The Flock
• Leviticus 3:6 'But if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD is from the flock [sheep or
goat] , he shall offer it, male or female, without defect.
Leviticus 3:1 …out of the herd [cattle] , whether male or female, he shall offer it …
Leviticus 3:16, all fat is the LORD'S
• Leviticus 3:16 'The priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar as food, an offering by fire for a soothing aroma; all fat is the LORD'S.
• Leviticus 7:23 "Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'You shall not eat any fat from an ox, a sheep or a goat.
• Many cultures (middle East, Inuits, and my dad) consider the fat to be the best part.
Leviticus 3:16 'The
priest shall offer them
up in smoke…
• Not “shall go up in smoke”
Let’s Read Leviticus 4:1-12

• Leviticus 4:13 'Now if the whole congregation of Israel commits error and the matter escapes the notice of the assembly, and they commit any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and they become guilty;
• KJV Leviticus 4:13 …sin through ignorance… • ESV …sins unintentionally and the thing is hidden from the eyes of
the assembly…• NET …Israel strays unintentionally and the matter is not noticed by
the assembly…• CSB Leviticus 4:13…errs, and the matter escapes the notice of the
assembly…• YLT …Israel err ignorantly…
Leviticus 4:13, If The Whole Congregation Sins
• Leviticus 4:13 …they become guilty;• You can try the “everybody was doing it,
ignorance, unintentional, erred, forgot, didn’t know, truck blocked the sign, necessity, or I meant well” excuses next time you get pulled over for speeding.
• You’re still guilty! Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Let’s Read Leviticus 4:22-35
Leviticus 4:22, When A Leader Sins
• Leviticus 4:22 'When a leader sins and unintentionally does any one of all the things which the LORD his God has commanded not to be done, and he becomes guilty,
Leviticus 4:27, When The Common People Sin
• Leviticus 4:27 'Now if anyone of the common people sins unintentionally in doing any of the things which the LORD has commanded not to be done, and becomes guilty,
• How much sin?• Matthew 5:22 "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with
his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever says to his brother, 'You good-for-nothing,' shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever says, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell. [Matthew 5:28, 48, Romans 3:23, 6:23]
• 1 Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Leviticus 4:35 …Thus the priest
shall make atonement for
him in regard to his sin which he has committed, and he will be
forgiven.04/12/2023 Kumar sdb
