He was lookinglooking it over, probably wonderingwondering how they would take such a mightymighty walled city with

swords and bows and arrows.Joshua had nevernever attacked a city that was prepared

for a long siege.

13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?

The Lord HimselfLord Himself had come with all His hostall His host to lead the battle.

Joshua recognizedrecognized the Lord as Lord, fellfell on his face and worshippedworshipped Him.

"If You are going to lead us in battle, just tell

me what to do."

That must be our mindset.

15 And the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

We would expect something bigger; more spectacular.

God just wants our love and respectlove and respect demonstrated through simple, willing obedience.

He will do all the great and mighty deeds.

"Take off your shoes."
