But if you show favoritism,you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers.

James 2:9

God Honors the Poor

He raises the poor from the dust and

lifts the needy from the ash heap;

He seats them with princes and

has them inherit a throne of honor.

1 Samuel 2:8 NIV

Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food.

If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well;

keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his

physical needs, what good is it?
