SALT

You are so valuable he called you salt…

Matthew 5:13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

TRANSLATION

This means he wants you to be what makes the world better.

How?

Two ways deliverance and intercession.

Let me explain:

Salt does two things: draws out flavor that’s subtly hidden in the food.

Salt keeps things from spoiling.

DRAWS OUT

We are called to draw others out… (Deliverance)

Jude 1:21-23

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

KEEP IT GOOD!

We are called to make intercession…

1 Timothy 2:1-3

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior…

WHAT IF YOU DON’T?

Warning:

If you are not used for the purpose in which you are intended, you’ll be trampled on.

And the ground is no place for a VICTORIOUS ONE!

Then pray for each other.

LIGHT

You are so valuable he called you light…

Matthew 5:14-16Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

TRANSLATION

This means he wants you to shine! Yet we do the opposite… fade to black.

We stay in the background. Why?• We cover up to be accepted by the world. (John 3:19)• We cover up our light to keep from exposing others. (John 3:19-21)• We cover up our light to do those things we should not do. (John 3:19-21)

Hint: Our light don’t clap off! It can removed, but it’s not a switch.

STEPS TO SHINE

WORD

HE commands us to SHINE

LET THERE BE LIGHT

The same God that commanded light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts… (2 Corinthians 4:6)

In other words, God looked at us and said the same thing…Let there be light

To obtain the light, there has to be an entrance of the Word of God.

The entrance of thy words gives light; it gives understanding unto the simple.

Psalm 119:130

COVERING

Your light must be reflected outwardly for covering

PUT IT ON

 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.

In other words, it is time to get rid of actions that belong to the darkness and put on --- pick back up --- the armor of light.

Which tells me one thing, the only darkness can prevail is if we put away our light.

LOVE

KEEP LOVINGAND

SHINE ON

BE DIFFERENT

He that loves his brother abides in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him (1 John 2:10)

In other words, to continue in the light you must love and you won’t stumble because your conscience will be clear.

This sets us apart from the world.
