Ideas For Digipack

Photos The album covers for Janet Devlin, on the right really strike me in terms of the composition and camera shots used as the front cover. I feel the out of focus “leaves” or “plants” help push all the attention to what seems to be the background of where the artist is placed. The photo does have some simplistic yet stylised elements to it and that is just from the shot and composition which is something I feel would work well for my digi-pack. It could be re-created for my digi-pack as we did film in a place where there are some greenery and have a natural and fantasy feel which I get from the Janet Devlin album covers. It could also play a part in our synergy as that specific location is present in the start of out music video.

PhotosThe reason I like these photos of our main influence, Gabrille Aplin is again the type of shots used which seem like they would be easy to recreate. The first photo could be combined with the Janet Devlin photos, as the background could be the natural and fantasy feel ’d like but it is out of focus, with the side shot of the artist in the foreground in focus. This could also be used for the second photo of Aplins cover as I like the half face close up with the text on the side. With all these photos, they can all be carried into the second panel where the track listing for the album is.

ColoursAs a group, we decided that it would be best to have similar colours throughout all our digi-packs. The main reason we did this is because it would make sense as the colours we picked which are white, black, red and possibly green. This would be the colour scheme for the digi-pack itself but for the text colour I think I will be using white and black but this depends on the images I choose to use across my digi-pack as well as advertisement. I think using this colour scheme will also make it more linked to our music video which contain all of these colours and will help with our synergy.

Text, Track List and Album NameAgain as a group, we decided to use the original artist, Ellie Goulding’s album track list as our own track list because it would save time rather than having to come up with own song names. We also decided that the album name should “In My City”, the song we used in our music video because we feel that the music video would help promote the album as well as the artist. For the text, I plan to use a maximum of two, but I also plan to use the text that I used for the introduction of the music video which introduced the song and artist names which again will help the overall synergy between the music video, digi-pack and advertisement.
