The Beliefs of Hinduism: K.A.R.M.A.
Hinduism
K.Karma: reincarnation based on behavior
“Good Karma”= go UP caste system in next life
“Bad Karma”= go DOWN caste system in next life
A.All Hindus live in India’s caste system: strict classes
untouchable children often have limited opportunities in the caste system
Hindu castes (classes)
“untouchables” are also known as “outcasts”
R.Reincarnation: rebirth based on karma
-All living things have part of the same universal spirit in them
M.Many gods (monism)-Gods are forms of the same universal spirit
-stories of Gods in Vedas (holy writings)
A.All Hindus want to end reincarnation
Once you get to the top and get “good Karma” you get to live with the gods--no more reincarnation
-good enough Karma = become 1 with universal spirit
Reflection:
How is Hinduism different from or
similar to the other religions
we’ve discussed?
