Some of today’s Christians have learned to think more like mindless robots in stead of the sons of God which they are! We are instructed in God’s Holy Word, that we are more than mere servants, now we are called sons of God, John 15:14-15 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 1 John 3:1-3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. Just how many families have you observed where, when if the father truly loved his sons and daugh- ters, that he turned them into beggars! Tell me now, where in God’s Word do you find Jesus begging His Father for anything? No, and you will not find Him begging. However, I do find Him knowing what His Father wanted, and I do find Him going about doing His Father’s will! You and I are said to be made in God’s image and we have been restored back to son-ship, by the finished work of Christ. Matthew 10:24-25 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? If you find these thoughts to be shocking, you are about to get the shock of your life: John 14:12-13 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me , the works that I do shall he do also ; and greater works than these shall he do ; because I go unto my Father. 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Now — let us settle this — just name the things that Jesus did. What did Jesus say? John 14:12 the middle …. He that believeth on me , the works that I do shall he do also …. My dear Brother and Sister in Jesus, great Christians are believing Christians! They do not take the heritage of the Lord for granted, neither do they make excuses for failure or sell short the sure promises of God.
