Philippians 2:5-8 5 (A) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 (B) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 (C) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was

Step A — Have A Jesus Like Mind

Most people today have a kind of mind, but not always a Jesus kind of mind! I have met peo-ple who did not seem to have one ounce of ambition and then, the complete opposite, those whose ambition was to walk all over their fellow man. Then again, there are those who seem to follow the popular crowd like mindless drones. We are seeing more and more of these as the end of the age of grace draws to a close. A classmate of mine, from years ago, recently compared what is happening in my home country, the USA, to what happened to the 6 million Jews, who were murdered during the Holocaust. There are those who refuse to think for themselves and will wake up one day in some kind of interment camp. Some of the Camps are there now! Wake up before it is too late!

2 Thessalonians 2:8-12 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his com-ing: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

No, the very first step to succeeding as a Christian is to have a Jesus kind of mind. His mind was one that knew exactly who He was and what He had come to do. There never seemed to be any doubt that Jesus knew that He was God’s only Son and He never waivered from His ultimate goal of dying for our sin debt. Christians should (1) learn, (2) hold to and (3) press toward the will of God for their lives.

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye pre-sent your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the re-newing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Philippians 3:12-14 Not as though I had already attained, either were already per-fect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
