Part 1 (Psalms 1-10)

For the Lord knows the

ways of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked will perish

•God has a proper name- YHWH•God is the Existing One. •God has a Law.•God knows the righteous.•God sees wickedness.

He who sits in the heavens

laughs, Yahweh

scoffs at them (Psalm 2:4).

• God is YHWH, the Existing One!• God has an Anointed One. • God has a sense of humor! • God’s throne is in the heavens.• God speaks. • God gets angry. • God installs kings!• God has a holy mountain- Mt. Zion.• God has a Son. • God requires reverent worship. • God insists that you accept His Son. • God has a wrath. • God is a refuge.

But You oh lord are a shield about me, my glory & the one who lifts my head (Psalm

3:3).


• God is a shield (armed defense) around His people.

• God is the glory (abundance, riches, reputation, honor) of His people.

• God is the lifter (raises, exalts) of the heads of His people.

• God answers the cries of His people.• God sustains (upholds, supports,

refreshes, revives) His people.• God fights the enemies of His

people.• God is the only One who can save

(the word for salvation is Yeshua which is also the Hebrew name for Jesus)!

But know that the lord has set apart the godly man for himself; the lord

hears when I call to him (Psalm 4:3).


• God is righteous (just, right, ethical, judge, ruler, king).

• God sets apart the faithful (Godly) for Himself.

• God hears the prayers of His servants.

• God makes His servants live in safety.

For you are not a god who takes pleasure in wickedness; no evil dwells

with you (Psalm 5:4).


• God is the King• God is a personal helper• God hears morning prayers• God does not take pleasure in wickedness• God can’t cohabitate with evil• God hates iniquity• God won’t accept the boastful• God destroys liars• God hates the one who sheds blood• God hates deceitfulness• God has an abundance of lovingkindness• God has a house• God has a holy Temple• God is righteous• God has a path for His children to follow• God is a refuge• God is a shelter• God blesses the righteous man/woman• God surrounds the righteous with favor

The Lord has heard my

supplication; the lord

receives my prayer (Psalm

6:9).


• God gets angry• God has a wrath (rage, indignation,

burning anger)• God is gracious (shows favor, shows pity)• God is a healer (heals, makes whole,

physician)• God waits to answer prayers• God rescues (to remove, draw out) the

righteous• God saves (liberated, delivers, make

victorious) the righteous• God is full of lovingkindness (goodness,

kindness, faithfulness)• God hears (hear with attention or interest,

grant request) the cries of the righteous• God receives (to take, snatch, to seize, to

carry away) the prayers of the righteous

God is a righteous

judge, and a god who has indignation every day

(Psalm 7:11).


• God is Jehovah Elohim- He is the True God

• God is Jehovah Elyown- He is God Most High

• God gets angry• God judges sinners• God is Elohiym Tzadik Shaphat- He is a

righteous (just, lawful, right) judge• God tests (examines, scrutinizes, proves)

the hearts and minds • God is a shield (armed defense)• God saves (delivers, liberates, makes

victorious) the upright (pleasing, righteous, straight, level) in heart

• God gets indignant (very angry- like a boiling pot) every single day

O Lord Our Lord how majestic is

your name in all the earth (Psalm 8:1).


• God is Jehovah Adonai (once again God is both proper & personal).

• God’s name is majestic (great- like the waves of the sea, excellent, mighty) throughout the earth.

• God has displayed His splendor (majesty, glory) in the Heavens.

• God has established (laid the foundation for) strength & boldness from the mouths of those who are known to be weak!

• God created the heavens, the moon, and the stars• God thinks about us, even though we are lowly.• God cares (visit, watch over, oversee) for us, even

though we are lowly.• God crowned His creation (us) with glory

(abundance, riches, honor) and majesty (splendor, glory, honor).

• God created us to rule over the things He created.• God has put ALL things under our feet.

The Lord Abides

Forever. He has established his throne for

judgment (Psalm 9:7).


• God is a God of wonders (marvelous, surpassing, extraordinary)• God is the Most High-Jehovah Elyown (exalted above everything

and everyone)• God is a righteous (justice, rightness) judge• God rules from His heavenly throne• God rebukes nations• God destroys the wicked• God removes the name of evil-doers from His book• God uproots cities & even removes any memory of their

existence• God abides (remains) forever• God has made His Throne specifically for judgment!• God will judge the world in righteousness• God will judge with equity• God is a stronghold for the oppressed• God does not forsake those who seek Him• God dwells in Zion• God does great exploits• God requires blood• God hears the cry of the afflicted• God lifts up His servants• God has salvation (Yeshua)• God has made Himself known (no excuses from atheists)

O Lord you have heard the desire of the humble;

you will strengthen their heart; you will

incline your ear…(Psalm

10:17).My God Notes @


• God seemingly hides Himself in times of trouble

• God’s judgments are (for a time) out of the sight of the wicked

• God sees all that the wicked do• God helps orphans• God is the eternal king• God hears the desires of the humble• God strengthens the hearts of the

humble• God listens to the humble• God vindicates (executes justice) the

orphan and the oppressed
