The Fig, the Olive, Mount Sinai and The City Of Mercy (Makkah)

By the Fig and the Olive, by Mount Sinai, by the City of Security Makkah. We created man in the best stature (mould). then we reduced him to the lowest of the low. Except those who believed in the Islamic monotheism and do righteous deeds. Then they shall have a reward without end (paradise). Then what or (who) causes you (O disbelievers) to deny the recompense (i.e. the day ofresurrection). Is not Allah the best of judges?”

Quran 9:5. 1-8

Page 7: Four Islam - Part 1

The Fig, the Olive, Mount Sinai and The City Of Mercy (Makkah)

In the above verse:

Allah swears by the holy and honored places, places that He chose for therevelation to come down on His Prophets and Messengers. The first of those places is Ash-Sham (Syria and its surroundingregions) in general, and Jerusalem in particular , for figs and olives grow in those lands. It is as if Allah is swearing by the message that was reveled to Hazrat Isa.

Mount Sinai is in the area of Sinai. It is as if Allah is swearing by the message that was revealed to Hazrat Musa on Mount Sinai; ‘Sinin’ in the given verse literally means ‘blessed’.

And this ‘city of security’ means Makkah-al-Mukarramah which is where Prophet Muhammad received Revelation.

Therefore , it is as if the Verses are oaths taken by the Divine messages that were revealed to Prophet Isa, Prophet Musa and Prophet Muhammad (SAWM)

Page 8: Four Islam - Part 1

The Fig, the Olive, Mount Sinai and The City Of Mercy (Makkah)

It points to;

A spirit of brotherhood between the prophets, although the law they came with differed, their religion was one and the same; The religion of Islam.

“Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam,”(Quran 3: 19)

Creation of Adam (AS)

The reason for his creation and the secret of his glorification

He was given physical and spiritual superiorityknowledge of the Asma (names of Allah) to make his status superior to the angels

Allah also implanted in Adam an insatiable need for and love of knowledge and a desire to hand downknowledge to his children.

Page 13: Four Islam - Part 1

Allah commanded the Angels…“Prostrate in front of Adam (AS)”

All except Iblis (Satan) prostrated.

Iblis argued “ I am made of fire and superior to him”.

Allah expelled him from the heaven. He challenged Allah,” I will misguide your people”.

Allah replied, “

Then you and your friends will be in hell

forever But

you will never be able to misguide the righteous”

ADAM sent toHEAVEN

Allah’s gift:• A partner -BIBI HAWA (Eve), most

beautiful woman, created from his rib.

Allah forbade the couple:• Not to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree

Page 15: Four Islam - Part 1

IBLIS’s Vengeance

Iblis enterstheHeaven with the

help of a snake. Incited Adam

andHawa to eat the fruit

Adam & Hawa Allah’s

ignored command.

Ate the fruit.Both were expelled

from the heaven on to the earth

.

Act to ignore Divinecommand

1st

Act to repent and seekDivine forgiveness.

Adam repented and

asked for forgiveness.

Allah the most merciful

granted Mercy

Repentance became the

sunnah of Adam (AS).

All humans (descendants

of Adam) thus have to go through thisspiritually, in the way toward spiritual progress.

Page 17: Four Islam - Part 1

Adam Learns His Lessons

He knew now in a practical way that

Iblis was his enemy:

The cause of Allah’s displeasure and losing the blessing of living in the Paradise, and the cause of his

distress.

Adam also understood that Allah punishes disobedience

Gaining Allah’s pleasure has to be through;

unconditional submission to His Will.

Allah Almighty taught him how to:

Ask for forgiveness&

Look towards Allah under all circumstances.

1st Death and 1st Murder on EarthConcept of Sacrifice (Niaz)

Habeel , a shepherd, was kind hearted.

Qabeel a farmer was arrogant, selfish and disobedient.

Allah commanded each son to offer a sacrifice.

Their Sacrifice was placed on a hill top.

On Divine commanda Fire descended

and devoured Habeel's sacrifice, leaving that of Qabeel

1st Burial Habeel’s sacrifice was accepted as it

was offered with sincerity.

Qabeel sacrifice was unacceptable to Allah.

This outraged Qabeel. He killed his brother instantly. He buried his brother and fled.

Lesson : Allah accepts sacrifices

that are made with love and sincerity.

Sadaqa in the form of Niaz was established.

His people were simple and

peaceful farmers

Qabeel’s (Cain) children also

became his followers

He died at the age of

912 years.

Abu Dhar(RA) narrated that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:

"Allah sent down one hundred and four psalms, of which fifty were sent down to Seth(Sheesh)."

Incidence of Idolatry

Sheesh - caring, kind and innocent . was a reflection

of Allah qualities that he glorified.

Iblis found a new way to misguide humans.

He fooled the people into making an IDOL of Sheesh ,

to glorify, remember and show their respect .

Eventually they began worshipping the idol instead of Allah

His was the 1st Idol in history

Lesson

Iblis had challenged Allah that he will misguide his people.

The Devil is seriously fulfilling his commitment to Allah. But

Are we fulfilling our commitment towards Allah

as well ?

First Rasul/Messenger Sent By Allah To The People Of TheEarth.

( Hadith Qudsi, number 36 ).

Why did Allah send him as a messenger?Because people had fallen into the ways of the non believers, idol worshipping, valuing status and wealth etc. became the norm.

Page 27: Four Islam - Part 1

600 years of PreachingProduced only 80 Muslims.

Efforts at the intellectual level has little effect on the heart.

Without Allah’s support

neither message nor preaching has any effect, nor it can change the hearts of people.

However, Nuh diligentlyheld on to his faith

and followed Allah’scommand, with faith in his plans

Reason Worldly wealth Material comfort Pride and arrogance Were the reason for the

indifference to Nuh's preaching, advice and warnings.

Lesson: Health ,wealth and worldly

comforts are the most difficult barriers between man and Allah

Page 28: Four Islam - Part 1

NUH SEEKS ALLAH’S INTERVENTION

Hepleaded to Allah, that all his efforts to callpeople to righteousness has failed.

Now destroy them in such a way that not a trace of them remains.

If they remain then their future generation will become kafir & evildoers.

Allah SWT commanded Nuh to build an Ark, “take on board pairs of every species,

male and female, and the believers”.

For 40 days and 40 nights Waterpoured in from the skies.

All non believers in that land were drowned in water - including Nuh's own Wife and Son.

Lesson Warning to those who reject faith and do wrong would be

punished and those who believe would be saved.

Page 29: Four Islam - Part 1

Allah SWT commanded Nuh (AS)’s Ark to sailto safety

Mount Judi Iraq Year 1656 AFRANISH (start 0f time)Storm lasted 40 days and night. The

Three years without rain brought severe draught.

Black clouds with a loud sound of thunder

And a sudden onset of: Eight days thunder with strong

wind blew off the tall buildings and buried all the inhabitants .

Shaddad ‘s followers perished along with his self created Jannat during the storm.

Only Hud (AS) and his followers were saved
