“The first rule of forecasting

is that the unforeseen

keeps making the future

unforeseeable.”

Living in the 21st Century, it goes against our grain to accept this

statement…

Page 3: Forecasting your Future

Because you ask yourself…

With all the available Technology, Super

Computers, Scientists and Professors…

surely can’t WE forecast the future…?

Page 4: Forecasting your Future

But you know what…?With all the available

knowledge , technology learning and high end

academics, we still cannot accurately

predict our future!

The 2008 Financial meltdown and the

untold misery caused to millions and the Trillions

of monies lost worldwide

A good example…

Page 5: Forecasting your Future

13 Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.

James 4 : 13

Page 6: Forecasting your Future

14 “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.” James 4

How much do we know?

IS IT NOT SO TRUE…?

Page 7: Forecasting your Future

“You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” (James 4 cont…)

But as Christians we are expected to make “the mist” - which is our life - be a light to the world before it vanishes…

“…What is your life”?

Page 8: Forecasting your Future

James 4 Cont…15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”How many Christians in today’s world have the DEGREE OF FAITH to submit themselves to Gods will…?

Did you know that Faith can actually change your future…?

Page 9: Forecasting your Future

Or at least wholeheartedly commit the day unto the Lord to fulfill whatever plan that He has for you…

Or…on the contrary do you ask Jesus to support you on whatever plan that you have…?

Most often it’s the latter. We do things our way and sometimes get stuck… Only then does Jesus come in to the picture… and He is expected to solve the issue…!

Page 10: Forecasting your Future

It all depends on the amount of FAITH THAT YOU HAVE in Jesus as a Christian…a Christ follower.

IF YOU HAVE FAITH IN HIS POWER then you would want to commit “everything that you do every day” to Jesus to obtain His blessing…

.

As Christians do we acknowledge Jesus in everything we do…?

Page 11: Forecasting your Future

…and make Him an integral part of what you should do in your life as a Christian .

By doing so we have the possibility to influence the outcome of our Future - through the Faith that we have in Jesus.

Page 12: Forecasting your Future

In Jesus’ life we can study the importance that He placed on Faith…

Matthew 8 :26 He replied, “You of little FAITH, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

Jesus rebuked His disciples for not having sufficient FAITH IN HIS POWER to protect them.

Page 13: Forecasting your Future

Importance of Faith…

Matthew 14 :31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “YOU OF LITTLE FAITH,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Jesus rebuked Peter for having lostFAITH IN HIS POWER to protect them.

Page 14: Forecasting your Future

Importance of Faith cont…

Mark 16:14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their LACK OF FAITH and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

Jesus rebukes His Disciples for not having FAITH in Him that He had risen from the dead - even after telling them so many times!

Page 15: Forecasting your Future

In Jesus’ life we can also see many instances that Faith was a critical requirement…

Mark 10:52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your FAITH has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Luke 7 20 Jesus said to the woman, “Your FAITH has saved you; go in peace.”

Matthew 929 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your FAITH let it be done to you”;

Page 16: Forecasting your Future

If what one asks is absolutely “selfless” and we ask in Faith… then we have an assurance that we will receive it.

There are much more recorded instances in Jesus’ life where we see the importance that He Placed on Faith.

As son of God Jesus has no capacity to say anything that is untrue. It is just our unfortunate inability to muster absolute Faith in what Jesus has said in His word.

Page 17: Forecasting your Future

Mark 11

22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and DOES NOT DOUBT IN THEIR HEART BUT BELIEVES that what they say will happen, IT WILL BE DONE FOR THEM.

We also have some great advise from Jesus…

Page 18: Forecasting your Future

Mark 11 Cont… 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

…and we also have an assurance from Himwith one important condition….
