WHAT IS EVENT?

• What is an event?• an event is a thing that happens or takes place (a public or

social occasion)

WHY EVENT?

• We want to achieve something desirable within a specific time.

• To mark the beginning/end of something

• It’s human nature to be together(we are social creatures)

• Inspiring people, do ordinary things in an inspiring way.

• Energetic people, do ordinary things in an energetic way.

• Successful people, do ordinary things in a different way ,while ordinary people do the same things in an ordinary way.

• How you do your things is very important than what you want to do. Do something to touch people’s heart and to leave a legacy in your community

BRAINSTORMING ON EVENT PREPARATION

• What are your needs during event preparation (necessities)?

• What are your wants during event preparation(desirable things)?

• Who are your main players(key players) during the event?

• Nature(social class) of participants

• how do you intend to reach out to them

• Where and when to conduct the event

• Delivery approach of the intended message to participants

• Evaluation methodologies(Feedback) to be used during and after event.

CONCEPT PAPER OF THE EVENT

• What is a concept?

• Is an abstract idea or mental picture of a group or class of objects, formed by combining all their aspects.

• In other words a concept paper is a drafted paper that gives an overview of the event and how it was organized.

• Concept paper acts as a roadmap or a strong glue to the organizing committee since every one has the mental image.

• Cover page

• Introduction

• Vision of event

• Goal of the event

• Objectives of the event

• Date/Venue and timetable of the event

• Expected outputs.

• The cover page must have

1. YKM logo

2. Title of the event[with name of ministry involved]

3. Location

4. Date and time.

5. Host of the event

VISION OF THE EVENT

• Vision, is the whole image of what we want to achieve.

• Visionary(Venither) is on the mission to fulfill the vision of having a charity organization(mental image). She understands her vision and she has passion to work on it. She works hard(Perseverance and persistence ) to reach only one vision(target),she communicates her vision to the right people,Why? because a lot of visions have died, because they were shared with the wrong people.

• Example of Vision Statement

• Our vision is to be the leading charity organization in helping youth to discover their talents, for their development.

GOAL

• GOAL is the aim.

Example of a goal statement

To increase the number of young people who are capable to use their talents for their development.

OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT

• Objectives is what we want to accomplish.

Example of objectives statements

• To organize youth awareness campaign on talents

• To establish the hub for incubating youthful ideas

• To organize trainings on time management,

• To organize youth development projects, such as entrepreneurship, leadership programs

EXPECTED OUTPUTS

• What are the values to be delivered/gained at the end of the event?

• You must have activities which will deliver values, challenge and inspire participants of the event.

After attending the event on Courtship

The following are expected outputs of this event

• Youth will gain basic knowledge on courtship issues and marriage

• Networking among participants of the event

• Establishing the platform to discuss the courtship issues
