• Here paradise is restored, heaven opened, and the gates of hell disclosed. Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end.

• Seeking God's counsel and advice will bring blessings – v.1

• Delighting in the LORD and meditating on God's Word day and night has 4 PROMISES from God –vv.2-3

1. You will grow strong.

• God promises that you will be like a tree planted by an abundant source of water.

• Water is always associated with life.

4 PROMISES:

God’s Word Strengthens Us:-Isaiah 40:29- He gives strength to the weary-Isaiah 40:31-But those who hope in the Lord shall renew their strength-Isaiah 41:10-”I will stengthen you…”-Philippians 4:13-”I can do all things through Christ who gives me srength”

2. You will produce fruit.

John 15:3 You have already been prepared to produce more fruit by the teaching I have given you.

• It was not merely what the psalmist avoided (foolish and worldly counsel) that made him blessed, but what he embraced—the Word of God.

• Therefore, he who DELIGHTS in the counsel of God will be blessed in all he does.

• “This Book [the Bible] is the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers.

• Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding; its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.

• Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy.

• It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

• It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet.
