Matthew 1 1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. 2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

Jesus was the fulfillment of God's Promise to Abraham,

And the Promise that He would be of the kingly line of David.

Jesus' genealogy is traced here through His legal earthly father -- Joseph.

16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. 17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

God would have us understand that He uses imperfect men and women to do His Work.

There is no other kind.Jesus came to save us all from our sins.

Whosoever will may come and be saved.

Your past doesn't matter; your family matters not.

What people think of you is not a concern to God.

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His Name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.

22-23 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His Name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called His Name JESUS.

John 1 1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the begin-ning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

4-5 In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6-8 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear wit-ness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

"Behold the Lambof God, Which takes

away the sins ofthe world."

9-10 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

11 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.

Jesus knows what it is to be rejected.

He accepts whosoever will come to Him.

12-13 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

25

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of Grace and Truth.

John 3 16-17 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

Will you be saved fromsin and hell this morning?

Will you be born of the Spirit of God into the family of God?

Come as you are; God will receive you and cleanse you

from sin.
