THE NEW YEAR IS A VIRGIN

We have over the years been told that its our year of this and that but thinking carefully

and biblically we would realize that the new

year is a virgin it's what we sow we would reap

GOD IS NOT MOCKED

Galatians 6:7-8

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows,

that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who

sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

We have been praying and asking God to change the

leader

We have been praying and asking God to change the

people

We have been asking God to change our spouses

How well has this worked for us, I ask

How many years of doing this without

results

It's time to change our paradigm

WHAT ARE WE WISHING FOR IN THE NEW YEAR

Don't wish it was easier; wish you were better. Don't wish for less problems; wish for more skills.

Don't wish for less challenges; wish for more wisdom."

WHY?

We have put our hopes for various people from Obasanjo

to Yar Adua & Now to Jonathan.

We even as hope in a better Governor in Ajimobi than in

Akala

Who knows weather you are in the Kingdom for such a time as

this

THE ARM OF FLESH WILL FAIL YOU

Psalm 146:3-6 HCSB

Do not trust in nobles, in man, who cannot save. (4) When his breath leaves him, he returns to the

ground; on that day his plans die. (5) Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, (6) the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. He remains

faithful forever,

YOU ARE THE ONE TO CHANGE NOT THEM

1 John 5:4-5

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has

overcome the world—our faith. Who

is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 11: Change or die

YOU ARE THE ONE TO CHANGE NOT THEM

Overcome the world system, overcome the

corruption system

Not ask God to bless us through it or through man

God love is our security not the love of our

spouses

WHAT WILL YOU WISH FOR?

When times are tough, it's natural to wish they were easier. Whether you're sending

out countless resumes, dealing with a problematic relationship, facing business challenges, or struggling to pay the bills,

it's easy to just wish those problems would go away, right? Problems be gone!

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 13: Change or die

THOSE WISHES ARE NATURAL. BUT USEFUL? NOT SO MUCH!

On the other hand, if you flip it around, and wish you were better, stronger, and more capable - that gives you something

you can work with.

You can actually develop your skills, educate your mind, and build your strength.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 14: Change or die

THOSE WISHES ARE NATURAL. BUT USEFUL? NOT SO MUCH!

Improving yourself in this way can help you get through the current set of problems, and

also improve your ability to deal with other things after that.

A LITTLE EXTRA CHANGE -BY JOHN C. MAXWELL

leadership expert Max Depree says,

“We cannot become what we

THOUGHTS ON PERSONAL CHANGE - JOHN MAXWELLDon’t change just enough to get away

from your problems – change enough to solve them.

Don’t change your circumstances to

improve your life – change yourself to improve your circumstances.

THOUGHTS ON PERSONAL CHANGE - JOHN MAXWELL

Don’t do the same old things expecting to

get different results – get different results by doing something new.

Don’t wait to see the light to change –

start changing as soon as you feel the heat.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 18: Change or die

THOUGHTS ON PERSONAL CHANGE - JOHN MAXWELLDon’t see change as something hurtful

that must be done – see it as something helpful that can be done.

Don’t avoid paying the immediate price of

change – if you do, you will pay the ultimate price of never improving

CHARACTER BUILDING IS A SLOW PROCESS; IT HAPPENS DAY-BY-DAY.

James writes: 'When your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance

to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing' (James 1:3-4 NLT).

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 20: Change or die

CHARACTER BUILDING IS A SLOW PROCESS; IT HAPPENS DAY-BY-DAY.

Whenever we try to escape life's difficulties we short-

circuit the process, delay our growth, and end up with a

worse kind of pain; the worthless type that

accompanies denial and avoidance.

So, be open to change; and pursue it!

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF US?

Matthew 22:36-40

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in

the law?” Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,

with all your soul, and with all your mind. ’ This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:36-40

And the second is like it:‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF US?

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His

commandments, For this is man's all. For God will bring every work into judgment,

Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

Romans 8:14-15

WHY?

2 Corinthians 10:4-6

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting

down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity

every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience,

when your obedience is fulfilled.

WHY?

2 Corinthians 10:5-6

[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the

[true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah,

the Anointed One), Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are

fully secured and complete.

LIFE QUOTES

I have looked at myself in the mirror every

morning and asked myself, ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’

and whenever the answer is ‘no’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change

something. ~Steve Jobs

WHY WE NEED TO BE THIS WAY?

1 John 3:8-9

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose

the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever

has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

But you can't do it without God

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 39: Change or die

OUR GREATEST FEAR..... MARIANNE WILLIAMSONOur deepest fear is not that we are

inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It's our

light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and

fabulous?

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 40: Change or die

OUR GREATEST FEAR..... MARIANNE WILLIAMSON

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not

serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't

feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 41: Change or die

OUR GREATEST FEAR..... MARIANNE WILLIAMSON

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we

unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically

liberates others.

will make you fit for what he's called you to be, pray that he'll fill your good ideas and acts of faith with his own energy so that it all amounts to something. (12) If your

life honors the name of Jesus, he will honor you. Grace is behind and through all of this, our God giving himself freely, the Master, Jesus Christ, giving himself freely.

FRUITFUL GROWTH IN THE FAITH

2 Peter 1:5-10

For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the

knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who

lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore,

brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

3 WAYS TO RESPOND

Most people go through life waiting for things to

happen and then reacting.

To react is simply to show a response, the actual

response is your reaction.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 74: Change or die

3 WAYS TO RESPOND

1. React

2. Act

3. Proactive

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 75: Change or die

1. ReactIf one were to

primarily go through life as a ‘reactor,’ that

is a quite passive approach and it leaves

you at the mercy of whatever or whoever

may happen upon you.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 76: Change or die

1. ReactIt’s kind of a precarious way to

live, as well as physically, emotionally, and spiritually

exhausting.

Someone once said that life is 10% of what happens to you

and 90% how you react.

The good news is that you have 100% control over your

reactions.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 77: Change or die

2. ActA better alternative

than reacting is to act; to be one who initiates action, be the one to make things happen rather than merely waiting to react to

other people or events.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 78: Change or die

2. ActBy taking action, you

will feel more in charge of your life; by setting and achieving goals,

you will develop a sense of accomplishment.

.So act, don’t react.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 79: Change or die

3. ProactiveThe best alternative is to be

proactive. When you are proactive, you anticipate, prepare for, intervene in, and take control

of future occurrences or situations.

“Look at the word responsibility—“response-ability”—the ability to choose your response. Highly proactive people recognize that

responsibility.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 80: Change or die

3. ProactiveThey do not blame

circumstances, conditions, or conditioning for their behavior.

Their behavior is a product of their own conscious choice,

based on values, rather than a product of their conditions…”

~Stephen Covey.

Being proactive is good for you, others, and the environment.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 81: Change or die

NO EXCUSES

Let’s face it; there really is no excuse not to be

proactive because most things in life are predictable,

especially if you pay attention – even the

negative events such as losing a job, ending a

relationship, or experiencing financial stress.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 82: Change or die

NO EXCUSES

For example, at some point, we are all going to have to deal with death – our own death as well as death of

our loved ones.

Rather than deny it or avoid it, think about it,

anticipate it, and develop a preliminary plan.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 83: Change or die

WE MUST BE PROACTIVE

All around us there are signs, words of wisdom, teachers, and sage old advice all of which is designed for the

express intention of showing us the way and helping us to be proactive in our lives.

Sacred scriptures offer a wealth of wisdom and advice, but to really understand the essence of this esoteric

knowledge, what these teachings seek to impart, and how to apply the lessons in your life, you must prepare

yourself.

Wednesday, January 2, 13

Page 84: Change or die

WE MUST BE PROACTIVE

You must be proactive.

This preparation involves cultivating your awareness, your mindfulness, your love and compassion.

It involves quieting your mind, stilling your body, transcending the limitations of the ego.

Stop rushing through your life as if it were a race, slow down, look, listen, and learn.
