Greetings from Cebu. January has been a busy month as we enter the New Year and February appears to be even busier. Thank you for your prayers and support.

Kicking off the New Year

We have gotten underway with our venture into what the Lord has for us in 2012. We have restarted our Feeding Ministries where over 600 children are fed every week. We are taking steps to increase the feeding at the elementary school from 400 to 600 there alone in the next few weeks.

Church Wide Valentines Celebration We will have a church wide Valentines celebration on February 12th, sponsored by our Men’s (Iron Sharpens Iron) and Women’s Ministries (Women of Faith). We will have a sit down dinner with games, worship, a guest speaker and door prizes. Our theme is “We Love Him Because He First Loved Us” based on 1 John 4:19. We anticipate about 50 participants.

Young adults Valentines Celebration Our Young Adults Ministry will have their own Valentines Celebration in a local mountain at Mountain View. It is one of the coolest places in Cebu. They will also have worship, games, a guest speaker and door prizes. Their theme is “Love is Spelled T.I.M.E.” based on Luke 10:27. The Young Adults continue to be one of the most active and involved ministries in the church. They are great planners and organizers.

 New Home Study

We have begun our 5th Home Bible Study @ Annabelle’s house on Saturday’s @3pm. We now have almost 50% of our church attending a Home Study. Our goal is 100%.

LOGOS Ship MV Hope

Our Youth and Young adults joined

together and over 30 of them visited the

Mercy Ship MV Hope from OM Ministries.

They were blessed to see the ship, stroll in

the bookstore with over 5000 titles, meet

missionaries from around the world (the

crew) and while there they saw many

friends from CC Cebu and CC Mactan.

We will send our adults to visit the ship in

the next few days.

 

Multimedia ProjectorOur projector recently suffered from a power surge and it did P25, 000 (about $580) worth of damage. Pray for wisdom on whether or not to repair or to seek a new one. The projector has been a blessing and really helps us do so much more than before we had it. Pray for God’s provision.

6.8 Earthquake As you may have heard, a neighboring island recently had a 6.8 earthquake that also shook Cebu, including our house.. It was on the same island that had the Typhoon last month. Over 50 are dead and many still missing in landslides. Roads were damaged and bridges were destroyed. Pray for the victims of this calamity as they recover from a double hit. We have many friends there and some of them had damage to their houses.
