• IT IS TIME THAT WE FULFILL THE DESIRE OF GOD IN MALACHI 4:6 TO “ RESTORE THE HEARTS OF THE FATHERS TO THEIR CHILDREN AND THE HEARTS OF THE CHILDREN TO THEIR FATHERS…”

•What we need to know to raise up Godly children who love and serve Him.

•We may not be able to influence our ancestors, but we can influence our descendants.

I. What God wants us to know about our children?

a. Our children are important.Ps.127:3- Behold, children are a gift of the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward.

2. OUR CHILDREN HAVE DIFFERENT NEEDS.

• Physical• Emotional • Social • Spiritual- our legacy A good parent knows the needs of his children.

3. OUR CHILDREN NEED TO BE TAUGHT ALMOST EVERYTHING.• Prov.1:8- Hear my son your father’s

instruction, and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

• Five Loves- Mk.12:30-33.Love God…heart-character; soul-conviction;mind-comprehension; strength-competence; and love thy neighbor as thyself- compassion.

4. OUR CHILDREN ARE UNIQUELY DESIGNED BY GOD.• Ps.139:13-14, For thou didst form

my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are thy works, and my soul knows it very well.

•Don’t force them into your likes.•Don’t make undue comments.

5. Our children have a heart problem.

•Prov.22:15- Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child.

II. What God wants us to know about Parenting. P-A-R-E-N-T…

•P-rocess. Galatians 4:19- My children, with whom I am again in labor until Christ is formed in you. - it takes time, no shortcut.

A-lways need diligence.

•Prov.13:24, “… He who loves him, disciplines him diligently.”

R-esponsibility to train.

•Prov.22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.

E-xasperate not our children.

• Eph.6:4 – Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

N-eed to take God’s wisdom.

• Each child is different.•Be a student of your child.•Need to have a plan.•Need to be intentional.

T-he lasting consequences.• Exodus 20:5, Visiting the iniquity of

the fathers on the children on the 3rd generation and 4th generation of those who hate me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.
