1 John 3 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. 2 Beloved, nownow are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And every man that hath this hope (confident expectation) in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin issin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.

Sin is contrarycontrary to God's Word, and therefore to the very naturenature of God.

Sin must notnot be taken lightly.

Jesus didn't come to make sin less sinfulsin less sinful.

He came to take awaytake away our sin, because in Him is no sinin Him is no sin.

It is God's delight to forgive sinforgive sin, when we come to Him in humilityhumility and true repentancetrue repentance.

But God can not and will not not overlookoverlook sin.We must confess our sins as being sinfulas being sinful;

Ask GodAsk God to forgive us and cleanse us;And whole-heartedlywhole-heartedly turn from them.

Hebrews 12 1-4 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay asidelay aside every weightweight, and the sinsin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patiencerun with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Himconsider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be lest ye be wearied and faint in your mindswearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not: who-soever sinneth hath not seen Him, neither known Him.

John’s point is simple and straightforward. Sin is a product of ignorance and blindness toward God. “No one who sins has seen Him or known Him”

Righteousness and onlyonly righteousness comes through Jesus Christ.

When a person gets savedsaved, born again --

Born ofof the Holy Spirit of God intointo the family of God --

Sin no longerno longer has dominion (powerpower) over him.

Or we choosewe choose to walk after the fleshflesh (soul [will, intellect, and emotions] and body),

which loves sinwhich loves sin.
