• All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between Christ and Satan regarding the character of God, His law, and His sovereignty over the universe.

Rev 12:4-5 KJV(4) And his tail drew the third

part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

(5) And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

Rev 12:6-7 KJV• (6) And the woman fled

into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

• (7) And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Rev 12:8-9 KJV(8) And prevailed not;

neither was their place found any more in heaven.

(9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him..

The Great ControversyThis conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God's adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels.

fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Satan introduced the spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin.

This human sin resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood.

The Great ControversyRom 5:12-14 KJV(12) Wherefore, as by

one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

(13) (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated.

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

To assist His people in this controversy, Christ sends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation.

Heb 1:14 KJVAre they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

The Great Controversy (Conclusion)When Lucifer chose not to follow God anymore, he and his angels were thrown out of heaven. As Satan, he tempted Adam and Eve to doubt God, and they sinned too. But Jesus fought back by becoming a human, living a perfect life, and then dying to pay for our sins.
