This is the user center design process. It is actualli an ISO norm 9241,

Plan the UCDThe 1 and second part are the Analysis businees, functional, user requierements and context of use- 3 part is the ideation and design phase- Test design requierements and see if the solutions meets those requierements- if not we shoudld iterate where is necessary depending on ou findings, 3 to 5 iterations is normal in a project, more that 5 iteration is that something is wrong with the mission of the project.

UCD doesnt requireany development. Design solutions can be tested before coding

UCDUCD Deliverables

Great design is a symptom. Its a symptom of a culture that values user centered design.

- David Travis

Added Value of UCDProject efficiency Better understanding of the problemValidation of story concepts before codingProvide clear visual representations of the projectImprove basis of estimationEasy to fix problemsReduces resources burdenReduce development costsReduce development timeReduce maintenance costsReduce redesign costsDecrease support costsReduce training neededReduce documentation costs

User performanceBetter Understand of users needsReduce # errorsIncrease ease of useIncrease ease of learningUser SatisfactionIncrease credibility: Increase user satisfactionIncrease trust in the system

Conclusion / Solutions* Include design as part of product requirements.

* Include design as criteria of done and QA when applicable

* Follow UX / UCD design process order

* Collaboration between teams and UX

* UX in not only about design but also about a clear UCD strategy

* Build products that make sense from a user standpoint

Support from product and PMO in order to apply a UX design process
