Based on UniPrint’s patented, PDF-based Universal Printer Driver (UPD) and innovative Virtual Print Queue (VPQ), UniPrint Infinity™ offers dual print security through PDF encryption and user-authenticated pull printing.

How It Works

Secure Pull Printing

Key Feature Secure Pull Printing

Connecting to UniPrint Application Server, a user prints from any application to one virtual print queue (VPQ).

UniPrint UPD converts and encrypts the print data into a PDF print job and stores it in a holding server.

The user authenticates himself/herself on the vPad , and selects the document for printing.

The document is “pulled” or released for printing to the selected printer in the proximity.

vPad User AuthenticationUniPrint Infinity™ vPad is fully compatible with any smart card reader. Existing RFID or HID smart cards, or fob devices being employed by organizations can be easily registered at the vPad.

User authentication is simple and can be self-administered. At the first use, a user taps his/her RFID/HID smart card or fob device on the vPad and his/her corporate ID is read. For added security, the user can also create an alpha-numeric password as a required step to release his/her print jobs. Once the user is registered at the vPad, he/she can simply tap the smart card or fob device without typing his/her name on the vPad on subsequent uses.

Through simple “tap and print” by users, UniPrint Infinity secure pull printing helps enterprises to eliminate possible damages associated with security breaches, or corporate espionage resulting from sensitive documents being left in the printer trays unattended, or picked up and viewed by unauthorized personnel.

Key Features/Benefits• UniPrint UPD solves print driver incompatibility

issues, simplifying printer management and enabling any platform, any location printing.

• Printing to one print queue, the VPQ allows users to print to any printer in the network. Print commands sent to busy or non-functioning printers can be re-directed to other available printer(s) for immediate printing.

• PDF conversion and encryption enhances print data security; while PDF compression optimizes bandwidth availability.

• The vPad network appliance provides one-to-multiple printers support, and works with printers of any make/model/age providing quick ROI.

• The vPad is compatible with any existing RFID/HID smart card or key fob; no customization is required.

• “Tap and print” two-factor user authentication improves print output security, and reduces print volume and printing costs by eliminating unnecessary print output. Users print only what they really need.

• UniPrint Infinity is highly flexible and scalable allowing quick installation and integration

• The user statistics and print archiving features allow enterprises to gain insights into their printing costs, output and user behaviors
