Setup JReviews in just a few quick steps

JReviews has hundreds of settings and tons of features, but you can get started fairly quickly and explore all the possibilities once you familiarize yourself with the setup process.

JReviews uses the WordPress Posts and Categories, so the first thing you need to do is create a few categories in WordPress that you want to use with JReviews.

For ease of use, custom fields are grouped together and all groups can be re-used in different Listing Types.

Lots of choices here: select lists, radio buttons, checkboxes, datepicker, website, email, text, textarea, code, numeric, banner and related listings.

Choose the field groups you want to use, add the rating criteria, create some detail page widgets and override almost any global setting.

WordPress categories are grouped together as a directory to display a nice overview of your setup to end users and to search engines.

Let JReviews know which WordPress categories are part of the JReviews system and associate each category with a Listing Type and Directory.

Create WordPress pages with JReviews menu functionality to display different types of JReviews pages.

In the Field Groups Manager create ‘Address’ and ‘Restaurant Info’ Listing

Groups. Then select ‘Reviews’ from the Location dropdown list and add

the ‘About me’ Review Group. At this point just fill out the Field Group

title and ignore other settings.

Access the Field Options Manager for the ‘State‘ field to start adding the options. Then do the same for the ‘City‘ field and establish the relation with the ‘State‘ field and value. Continue with ‘Cuisine‘, ‘Meals Served‘ and ‘Price Range‘ in the Restaurants Info Field Group.

To create a JReviews menu, you first need to create a WordPress Page. JReviews implements its own menu system for pages allowing you to easily configure the functionality of each page. In this step page you create your very first JReviews menu to start submitting listings in the Restaurants Category which you can view using the menu created in the previous step.
