Challenges & Opportunities• Wanted to reduce the time to create virtual machines and reproduce customer issues• Needed to the ability to deploy a Citrix end-to-end solution to simulate customer
environments• Provide a shared, flexible and dependable environment that can be accessed worldwide by
support• Reduce operating cost by eliminating the need for XenServer for individual users
Why Citrix• Since May 16, 2014, over 250 support users from the XenApp, XenDesktop, XenMobile,
NetScaler, engineering, readiness, knowledge base, product quality and Technical Relationship Management (TRM) teams created over 2,500 virtual machines
• Citrix CloudPlatform:- gives new hires a standard product environment for faster onboarding - allows for leverage of existing hardware (different server types and ages)- gives support the ability to add new hardware with out affecting the deployment design
• Citrix CloudPlatform Projects provide the ability to share a common workspace between users
Results• Faster reproduction environment with templates and snapshots• Deployed complex IT environments with Citrix Storefront, NetScaler, XenApp, XenDesktop,
XenMobile• Created shared environments that different support and engineering team can access
globally• Pooled hardware increased server capacity reducing the number of physical servers (1 per
user before) and power consumption by 80%• Reduced new hire resource cost by 33% by using Citrix CloudPlatform to pool infrastructure
resources saving over $150,000 this year
