Seattle, Washington, is a longtime fan of MMORPG games like World of Warcraft and the gaming communities that support them. Shawn Boday has taken this passion and begun work on live streaming video software geared toward gamers.

The World of Warcraft computer game is often referenced as a popular example of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). However, the game is also a demonstration of how expansion packs are used in the world of computer and console gaming.

Video Game Expansion Packs

An expansion pack can either be purchased as a physical copy or downloaded as additional software from a primary server. Some types of expansion packs must be used in direct connection with the original game to function properly. Generally, by downloading an expansion pack, players can gain access to exclusive content and material such as new levels, bonus missions, secret characters, and more.

and Sega Mega Drive and Playstation’s Take-Two Ships GTA London 1969 are examples of early expansion packs for home video gaming systems. Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, released in 2012 and 2014, respectively, mark the fourth and fifth expansion packs released for the original World of Warcraft (WoW), first released in 2004.
