Facebook's acquisition of WhatsApp for a whopping $19 billion has left the technology world in a state of delight and media circles are abuzz discussing the decision of social networking giant of acquiring instant messaging behemoth. As per December 2013, WhatsApp declared that it is handing more than 20 billion messages on a daily basis and its daily active users are 450 million. The two main reasons, which pushed Facebook towards WhatsApp were - WhatsApp's popularity in younger audience and its presence in developing countries where Facebook is still behind. Facebook will pay $4 billion in cash, $12 billion in Facebook shares and $3 billion in restricted stock units to be granted to WhatsApp founders and employees that will vest over four years This deal has surely opened the gates of possibilities and enthusiasm for those people who want to build a world class product aimed towards user experience and usability.
