I was looking at teen movies and came up with some age groups which might be interested in watching our film:

① 15 year olds② 18+ ③ Young Adults

I learned that Teen Movies also have a sub-genre which is targeted to teenagers and the young adults. Rebellion, Love, Outcasts and Parent conflicts are what the new Teen Movies are based upon.

Looking at our opening sequence and the horror sub genre we found that although a lot of teenagers love horror movies, our film can also be targeted at young adults and adults.

For example, our elder audience can enjoy the film which can bring them a sense of nostalgia of when they were a teenager.Although, the film may be creepy and supernatural it still keeps up with the urban sub-genre and key teen movie conventions.

What I love about our film is that both genres can watch the movie and equally enjoy it.There’s a fair share of romance, action and horror for both genders to have a good time.

HorrorBeing a teenager myself, I know that a lot of people in my age group enjoy watching thriller and horror movies because, it builds up tension and excitement. Most teenagers love being scared when watching horror movies so we definitely, added a fright factor not just guts and gore.

Every sub-genre is linked to different social groups. Girls are often attracted to romantic comedies and adventure films, whilst guys are usually linked with action and thriller.

I like to think that any social group is able to watch horror movies however, horror is mainly linked with the socially awkward and supernatural enthusiasts.

The Demon InsideIn order to attract our teen target audience we made sure to keep some of the key horror conventions such as:

① Gloomy setting.② Black and White film.③ Heavy Music and Props.

In order for our film to appeal to both genders we added the new girl, the it girl who turns out to be a rebel, the boyfriend and the outcast boy who tries to get with the rebel.
