IPC media is the UK’s leading magazine and digital publisher, with more than 60 iconic media brands. IPC’s award winning portfolio of websites reaches over 25 million global users every day. IPC media are best known for publishing pop/rock magazine NME, being the longest published and most respected music weekly in the world.

Future publishing is an award-winning international media group and leading digital business. We reach more than 58 million international consumers a month. Future publishes magazines such as Guitarist, which is a magazine for guitar aficionados. Rhythm, which is the UK’s leading drumming magazine. Also Future Music and Computer Music are the UK’s leading music production and music software brands, the

encyclopaedias for music producer around the world. The Future publishing institution is different to the other institutions I have looked at; as this institution publishes more ‘niche’ magazines whereas the other institutions publish more well know magazines.

I think Bauer Media would be a good media institution to distribute my magazine. Bauer are very successful in publishing a wide range of magazines as this company distributes popular music magazine such as ‘Q’, ‘Kerrang’ and “MOJO”. This company has a lot of experience in the industry they reach a large audience. As my magazine is targeting a similar target audience to ‘Q’ magazine where as Kerrang’s target audience are mainly people into rock music and Mojo is aimed at people who like ‘indie’ music. For this reason I think my magazine will fit in to the range of magazines that Bauer are distributing.

I don’t think Future publishing would be the right institution for my magazine as my magazine follows the regular conventions of a magazine such as NME, Q and Kerrang, whereas future publishing niche magazines.
