Nina Nesbitt:Stay OutDeciding on the narrative for our music video

Page 2: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Overview• We have decided that our main storyline is going to

be that a girl has just broken up with her long term

boyfriend and is heartbroken.

• Her friends decide to take her out to the beach for a

day of fun in order to make her forget about recent

events.

• When they arrive at the beach they see that the

group of boys (including the girls ex) are there too

and the day of fun might all go wrong.

Page 3: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Verse 1:• 3 seconds of music intro: We are going to extend this to a longer intro in

order to give us more time.

• In this first verse we are going to have the main girl standing looking

down at photo of her and her ex whilst her friends rush around to put

things for the day at the beach in the car (we might fast forwardx2 the

other girls making it seem as if ‘time is stood still’ for the main girl)

• Just before the verse starts the girl is going to tear the photo in two and

then join her friends in the car.

• On the first verse the girl will lip sync the words as if she is taking the

mick out of his ‘rolling stones tee’ and the fact that ‘he only knows one

song’ like she is trying to turn the things she liked about him into things

she dislikes. - This will be filmed in the car on the way to the beach.

Page 4: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Verse 2:

• 5 seconds of music in between verses: we will just

hand hold the camera and film our journey to the

beach.

• For the second verse we aren’t going to have

anyone lip syncing and will just show the girl group

walking to the beach from the car ‘bitching’ and

gossiping about a fight between two girls and

laughing about it.

Page 5: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Chorus 1:

• 3 seconds of music: Look towards the camera

(which will be placed as if it’s the sea) deciding

whether to go in or not as this suspense will fit with

the beat of the music.

• Chorus: Run into the sea together and splash each

other show the girls all enjoying the day including

the main girl - this chorus will not be lip synced.

Page 6: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Verse 3:• 5 seconds of music: In order to transition from this location to the

next we are going to use the video camera as if it’s a phone and

pretend to take a ‘selfie’ making sure there is nothing in the

background except the sky and then we will take the camera off

us and be at the arcade (we will have to ensure we are pulling

the exact same expression and are in the same positions as

when we are at the beach)

• Verse: see the boy group from behind not realising its them,

again talking about their clothing and ‘bitching’ in general about

them. They turn around and girls realise they’ve all turned up at

the beach too - film on tripod - show main girls facial expression

as she realises her ex is there. (will not be lip synced)

Page 7: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Verse 4:

• 5 seconds of music: playing on the arcade games

and walking around the arcade (main girl is a bit

distant from her friends)

• Verse: Main girl see’s the boy group ‘checking out’ a

girl at the beach - she is jealous of him already

appearing to be moving on - possibly lip syncing at

this point.

Page 8: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Chorus 2:

• 3 seconds of music: the girl group see main girl

looking at the boys and pull her away to the

fairground

• Chorus: a montage of footage on different rides - will

mostly be hand held: girls laughing to each other.

Page 9: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Verse 5:

• Song slows down: girls walking back to the beach

from the fairground together (needs to be sunset or

beach getting quieter - people going home)

• Verse: Girls all sat on the wall together, boy group

come over including main girls ex and sit down next

to them - this will be lip synced by the main girl. Film

shots of a the beach or everyone sitting on wall.

Page 10: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Verse 6 and 7:• Verse 6 and 7 are the same verse repeated.

• In these two verses we are going to have both the girl and

boy group walking through a forest towards a campfire.

• Verse 6: Main girl and Ex in the middle of the group -

possibly girl lip syncing. Focused camera shot on them two.

• Verse 7: Main girl and Ex drop to the back of the group and

begin to ‘sort things out’ - can see unfocused shots of

everyone else laughing and talking about the day. - this will

not be lip synced.

Page 11: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Chorus 3:

• Footage of everyone laughing around the campfire

and roasting marshmallows

• Main girl and ‘Ex’ are now sitting together after

sorting out their past problems they are back

together.

• This will not be lip synced

Page 12: Nina Nesbitt: Stay Out - our storyline

Verse 8:• This verse is the same as the first verse

• For this verse there is going to be one of the girls from

the group lip syncing - jokingly taking the mick out of

these things which the main girl now likes about him.

• Possibly the main girl lip sync the last line of the song

as it slows down

• End with the camera looking into the flames and

focusing out.
