The idea is behind this film poster is solidarity and cooperation. Also I think, the idea also related with friendship, love and justice. I think the message they want to communicated with us is let the audiences see the cooperation from each other in their team. So we can see the power from them. Apart from this, we can see the sense of justice as well. We look them like they are going to fight, but why? What they are fighting for? I think we can see it from their eyes, they are fighting for justice, and they are going to protect the world. Combined with the name, ‘The Big hero’, which is mean this story is talking about that big hero. He will be the hero to protect the world, fight for everyone. So I think this is main information they want to communicate with others. Look at this film poster, for the costume part, all the characters are wearing the same series and the same style clothes. And their facial expression are keeping same as well. This setting is telling us they are a team, they work together and stick together forever. Also the hero who is that boy is sitting on that big helper. He is taking that boy and try to protect him anytime. He is the leader who is leading them to fight and finish a target. Other characters are all following him and listen to his instructions. In that film poster, there are 4 persons standing at the right-hand side. And the hero and the biggest helper is standing at the top of the left-hand side. They are standing at a roof of one building. They must love someone then they will do something for them. In this film poster, we can see that girl at the bottom is loving her sister and her boyfriend. And that boy is loving that girl, so him will help her anyway. Including those animals, the couple loves them, then they love the couples, therefore they will help them to finish their target. We can see the love is mutual as well, we love others, then others will love us. This is one of the theory they want to tell to the audiences. Look at the film poster, the girl who is at the bottom sitting behind the boy, she rely on that boy; we can see their true love between them. That boy also want to protect the girl and help her any way. So we can see their love from this picture straight transfer to the audiences. Also, that girl at the bottom is trying her best to finish some targets. The most important target in this film is to find her sister. So we can see the family ship between her and her sister. This is kind of the love as well. Also those helper are helping them really hard, so we can see their friendship between them as well, this also needs to basic on the love. Cartoon always fit the family genus and suitable for children, they always love them; cause cartoon always be really funny and interesting, usually make people laugh ; so not only for children, some adult will love it as well.Paddington For the Paddington, I think the main audiences should be children and anyone

who like to watch cartoon. It can suitable for boys and girls, but I think especially for girls. Because the main character in this film is that bear; which is really cute and lovely, more girls like that toy than boys. So I think more girls will like this film and to be the audiences for it.

The Big Hero 6

For the Big Hero 6, I think it is suitable for everyone as well, but I still believe that is especially for boys. The reason I am saying that is because the storyline is contain many fighting action, that is more fit the boys.

Frozen For the Frozen, I think everyone will like it cause that is really popular and famous, but personally, I think it is more befit for girls. The style for this film is girls’ staff. The main character is that queen, which is the dream of the girls; therefore, I think this is more suitable for girls.


Paddington:Preferred: This film poster’s genre is hybridity. It contains both comedy and cartoon. Depends

on the position of the setting, the first time we see this film poster is that lovely bear. The audiences will like this film poster mainly is because that endearing bear. This lovely bear is sitting in a big bowl and it is slipping down. It looks really interesting and childlike. Many people will love it just because the cute points of this bear like stereotypical, and the audiences can see the childhood from this poster. It is transforming the child interest and happiness to the audiences, people can feel really funny and relax when they see this bear; then the people will be fascinated in this bear. Even the outside of that bear is like it’s archetypal, but people will still be the friend with it cause this is cartoon, this is a good way for people to get back to their childhood.

Oppositional:

Some people will not like this bear just because the background of this film poster. People will think this bear is too naughty, some people might not like the animals over activity. The bear sitting inside the white big bowl and slipping down to the bottom. Actually it looks really funny and cute, but some people will think that is so annoying. The tag line is telling us this bear will make a big splash, and the picture is telling us the bear broke the pipe, let the water come out heavily. Then it makes the room just has a water flood. So I think the connotation of this poster is showing that lovely bear is doing something really funny; but some people will think the denotation that this bear is making a big disaster and he still doesn’t know that. The setting and the iconography is telling us this is a catastrophic phenomena, so people will not like that bear before they watch this film.

This film poster just show the main character which is the bear Paddington; it does not show any other characters. So people cannot get enough information about the characters from this film poster, they just can see one character and doesn’t know about anyone else. Then people will a little bit confuse with this film’s other character setting. But if they just put one character in this film poster then it can catch people’s attention easily and let people know that it is the main character in this film; all the story is talking about him. Also if they use this way to introduce and promote it, just let people pay attention this bear; then I think they can make money from here like make the toys or T-shirt about this bear. If it has many fans, then they will come to buy it and you can make profit as well.


The Big Hero 6:Preferred: Though this film poster we can see all the character's costume are in the same

style and the same series although they are all different. This design is telling us they are a team, they will always sticking together. Apart from the costume, we also can see that they all standing together, we can see the power from their cooperation. Actually there is not just have cooperation between them, they still have belief, friendship and love. These staff support them work together and follow the hero, try to help the hero finish the target. Also those people who are standing there is all fake. Their outside and the activity they are doing are not the staff that human can so. Even something is impossible appear in our real world. So audiences can know this is cartoon easily, and they will know this film is not the true. They can know the genre clearly and all the staff on this film poster is fit the film as well. For the size of the character we can know who is the main character in this film, so people will not be confuse with the character setting.

This film poster does not have tag line. So people might not have anything to refer for decidingwhether they need to go to watch this film. Also all the characters are wearing something like their uniform for fighting, so we cannot see their face clearly and I think we cannot recognize them when they take off their uniform. So people just know the outside of them when they ready to fight and the audiences cannot get the information from what their really look like. Therefore some people cannot see what they really look like, and if people just like their real outside; they will not like this film poster because this poster has change their original character. However this poster has cover all characters’ original face although those people on that film poster are them as well.

This film poster’s background does not show really clearly, they just show us some house and glaring building, they do not show us the whole view of the city or the place they will be or the place is important to them. So people cannot get enough information of the setting from this film poster. But in the other hand, if people do not know that now, they will image where is there, what place should they go. They will interested in it and then I think they might want to watch it. Also the activity of the character is trying to go to the other place. Therefore, they use the background is fit the situation; I think that is available as well. If they do not give you the background clearly, they might want you focus on the characters; they want the audiences notice on them and remember them.


Preferred: This film poster looks amazing; actually that is really beautiful and it can catch people’s attention easily. When we looks the size of the character, the biggest one who is even bigger than the castle is that girl. I think she is the first impression for audiences and also compare with other characters, she is much bigger and the style of her wearing and her mood is all different. So, I think people can know easily that she is the main character in this film clearly and they will know she is the main reason why people will go to watch this film. They let people focus on this character and make any other things to set off by contrast. Then people will have a deep impression of this girl and remember it, even some people will become to her friend. Then the producer can make money from her, like making some toys of this girl, or put this girl’s image on everywhere to attract the costumers.

There are two girls on this film poster, and they are exactly different style and does not very similar. So when people the first time see this film poster before they watch this film, they might confuse with these two girls. This film poster’s background is a beautiful picture, but they are just showing the characters and the members will appear in this film; this is nothing else. We might will guess about the story line like they are sister or twins, what happen with them. Their clue is not like that clear.
