{Film Funding

By Ben Jackson

Film studios are usually the bigger more famous companies/organisations that can fund films. They fund the films that make the most money, examples of this would be the Paranormal Activity series or Transformers series which were both filmed in the studios of Paramount Pictures; a multi-national and well-known company. They would want to fund these films because they almost always make exceedingly large amounts of money off of them, also with the production of sequels they can continue to fund the series.

Banks would fund films for the same reason as large film studios, this is to make lots of profit of off big film names. However banks could also fund little-known films perhaps if they were local for example. One bank that could fund films is Barclays which funds a lot of media and not just films. Above is a list of well-known banks in EnglandBanks

Local councils would be the ideal funding for my production as it would be a small fund and also we would be producing locally. Local councils are completely different to film studios or banks because they would most likely prefer to fund only locally and also not fund a large amount either. Local councils are for funding small local films that sometimes could also help local community.

Local Councils

Charities can be a very generous and useful form of funding for a small-type film because it can fully fund the production over-time or in a quick succession.
