I used the whole left side page of my double page spread as an Image of the person being Interviewed this is so that the reader can pull it out and keep it. Also this is very typical of pop music magazines as they usually have more images than text. I also added the masthead in the bottom corner to create a brand identity.

I decided to do one question in pink and the next purple. I did this because I thought it made it look fun and interesting and so that the bright colours would attract the reader. By using these colours it shows continuity from each of my pages.

From my research I could see that TeenNow uses a quote underneath the headline and then sums up some of the best parts of the articles in a few words. The reason I did this is because the first thing my audience will look at it is the image and who the interview is with and below that is the most interesting quote that is going to make them want to read the article.

I quoted some of the things said in the interview in bubbles. At first I had to much text and it wouldn’t fit into 4 columns so I had to remove some. Pop music magazines tend to have 3-4 columns of text so I ensured that I did this.

Final Design

After getting my feedback I decided to use this layout as I did what my target audience wanted and also I wanted it to look as much like a pop music magazine as possible.
