Codes and conventions used in my

construction.

Masthead- memorable but not taking priority. Covered by image as this is more important.

Top strap line – informing readers of bands featuring in the magazine. Matches genre and draws young audience that are interested in music.

Issue number.

Image- main attraction, fills most of the page in order to draw readers in and show them who the main feature of the magazine is.

Pugs/Puffs- Offers readers a chance to win a competition that would appeal to them making them more likely to buy and read the magazine.

Barcode and price of magazine.

Strapline- informs readers of the ultimate festival guide. Enticing them to read and fitting in with the genre.

Heading and sub-heading- introduces the band allowing the reader to see who features in the magazine.

Memorable ‘N’ to fit in with theme of the magazine.

Editors note- involves the readers with the magazine and fits in with codes and conventions of a usual magazine.

How to subscribe- allows readers to subscribe if they wish. Band index-

include all of the featuring bands in the magazine, obviously appealing to them as they are interested in this genre of music.

Review section- allows readers to go straight to the reviews if they is what they are looking to read.

Images- to make it look more visually attractive. Allows readers to see that twofold are the main feature and go straight to the correct page.

Memorable ‘N’ to fit in with theme of the magazine.

Image- large and takes up the majority of the DPS. Represents the personality of the band so readers can visualise the pair when reading the interview.

Band name.

Headline- introducing the band andtheir name

Interview- Informs readers about the band and their recent hits. What they are looking for and want to read as they are interested in the genre and topic of the magazine.

Page Number.

Quote- picks out an important part of the interview for those who choose not to read the whole thing.
