1. Show Your Newsfeed in Chronological Order
Right now, you can view your feed as:1. Top Stories (algorithmic). What
Facebook thinks you want to see based on interest and previous interactions
2. Most Recent (chronological). All updates from all of your friends
Select the “most recent” option underneath your profile picture so you can tell Facebook what to show in your newsfeed.

2. Tell Facebook what you want to see, and what you
don’t want to see
As you scroll through your feed, click on the gray arrow. This will bring up a drop down menu where you can:
Hide posts
Unfollow people/pages
Get notified whenever they post

3. Tell Facebook Who Your Close Friends Are
Manually add close friends to a list so they show up more frequently on your feed (this can be a time intensive process, especially if you have a lot of friends).
Choose to receive notifications, or access your list in the menu bar.
Specify what updates you want shown in your feed.

4. Create lists if you’re selective with who you want to
share things with.
*Optional* Add people to different “lists”. This is a good idea if you want to keep your work life separate from your personal life.
This way, you can be selective about who you share things with.

5. Create a Private Group
Share photos, files, messages and more in a private setting. This is a great option for families who can use private groups to share photos, videos, stories, milestones & more.

8. Block Spoilers & Irritations
Sick of seeing photos of babies?
Don’t want to hear about politics or celebrities?
Want to block spoilers from your favorite TV shows and sporting event?
Download the free Google chrome extension called Rather that lets you block whatever words or group of words you want. You can even choose replacement content - like dogs or cats.
9. Automatically Sync Photos
Automatically sync your camera photos to your Facebook account.
On your Facebook mobile app, click on “photos” in your menu bar.
You’ll see an option called “synced”, where you can turn on auto syncing from your mobile device (photos only).
Your photos will remain private until you decide to share them.
10. Save Articles & Videos for Later
Don’t get distracted with all of the links posted on Facebook. Download Pocket, a free browser extension and app.
1. Click through on links you want to read later.
2. Save the link directly to your pocket account.
3. Go to Pocket and read your saved links at your convenience.
