The video starts with an establishment shot of two men dancing to the introduction of

the song. It is a long shot.

Nicola Roberts, the singer, then walks onto the stage it is a medium shot of her

standing behind a microphone.

Page 4: Beat of My Drum

The shots from the last slide cut between both the singer and the two dancers and are a variety of shots including close ups.

This is the first long shot we see of Nicola. It shows her and three other female dancers. We see that she is in the centre of the shot showing her importance. We see her legs in the shot this is for sex appeal which should

then attract a male audience.

The next shot again shows Nicola central of a group situation again showing her

importance in the video.

They’ve addded on the effect of adding chorus lyrics to the video with a sub video

in that font rather than it being a colour this shows the audience that there is a lot going

on at once.

After the second chorus has finished it cuts to three men dancing in minimalist room with white

walls and a beige sofa. The three men are in black clothes making them stand out against the

background and furniture it establishes with a long shot but ends with a close up of their feet.

After that scene we then see the singer alongside 4 men with drums, even though she isn’t central of the shot she still stands out because she is the only female in that

shot.

There is then a montage of shots that feature all the dancers, that montage then ends with the

singer in a different outfit facing the wall.

There is then an extreme long shot with Nicola central to that shot again she is also at the highest point of the shot showing her

superior to the others.

There is another montage which features all aspects of the videos, this is another example of Nicola in a group situation she is higher than the other girls because as she is standing this again

shows her as important.

The video then ends with a long shot of Nicola and the dancers, again she is central.
