THE UNTOLD FACTS: Use keywords relevant to your Products, Offers, Site or Company.

You do have some Leeway with your profile name. K.I.S.S i.e. keep it simple. Stick with what your audience already knows. For instance “@PKJULESWORLD” is used across all social media for our Travel Brand! Using other cutesy words that only mean something to you; makes it real hard for users to find you via search. Always Remember that Your Account Name is the only branded element in the Pinterest profile image file name; choose well.

Create boards with unique, relevant titles under 20 characters. Each board should have at least 500 character description, which should have a keyword-rich text on the board topic.

Have boards related to topics of interest to your audience. This will help both your current and future followers/fans find you in Pinterest search & On Search Engines!

Pay attention to your image file names as you save them, that’s what Your ALT TAGS will be on your website. And what Pinterest picks up as the Pin name. Make that Name Keyword-rich & relevant! When a user pins from your site you receive all the benefits & attribution from the repin!

Keep track via your Google Analytics too, to see what Keywords drive people to your blog/site. It’s a good idea to pick the well performing keywords and phrases you should use in your Pins. I use TailWind http://Juleskalpauli.com/twind for more Detailed Analytics of my Pins. Esp. since Pinterest now uses total Pin count than Individual Pin Performance at a glance! And…

When you Pin, this is another chance to ADD The Above Relevant Popular keywords. Add them as the image name, and Alt tag when pinning from your own site. And add the full post link in the Pin description too. Avoid using URL shortened links, Pinterest considers them spam. And BY the way, DO add rich product pins to your site.
