and get to trusting you, they will come to you.

I was in a marketing forum the other day and one person was asking what’s the best way topromote their business. With everybody out there talking about calling people and going oneonone and getting out and meeting people, and this person was saying that she doesn’t getout much.

She’s virtually housebound so she’s not able to get out much. She is pretty much focused onjust doing things online.

I can relate to that. Now that it’s nicer weather, I’m pretty much coming out of hibernation, soI can get out a little bit more, but I really don’t go out much.

You talk about finding a business that’s going to fit your personality and my personality is Idon’t like to approach people about business. So I’ve had a lot of people tell me, ‘Well, you’renot going to make money,’ or ‘It’s going to take forever to make money,’ or ‘You’re nevergoing to make a lot of money unless you get out there and talk to people and get facetofaceand introduce your business,’ and blah, blah, blah.

I told this woman, and this is something that I believe in and this is something that I’ve heardother people actually say to me. You can do just as well strictly online as you can going outand meeting people.

Now how does that work? It’s easy. Facebook, Google Hangouts, Skype, doing videos likethis, blogging. You’re not going to meet personally — if you live on the East Coast of theStates, you’re not going to meet personally, just go out and meet somebody who lives in



Alaska.

But that person in Alaska might be looking for your opportunity, so you need to get yourselfeducated and comfortable with being online, if that’s the type of a person you are, if that’show you want to work your business.

If for some reason you are shy or introverted and you really don’t like being around crowds,and you really don’t like discussing business? You’re okay with somebody in a grocery storeand commenting on their hat or making small talk, but then it doesn’t go beyond that.

So I am better with people approaching me. ‘Oh, well what do you do?’ I’m okay with that.Mine’s the other way around. I have a hard time saying to people, ‘Well, what do you do?’

So if you concentrate on using online marketing techniques, whether it’s sending someonean email on SalesSpider or IBOToolBox or Facebook or Twitter, if you put yourself out thereand people get to know you, they’ll come to you.

It’s not like if you build it, they will come. It’s not like you stick your blog up there and all of asudden people are going to find it. No, they’re not, not with the way the Internet is today.

Making friends online is actually pretty easy. There are three or four people I can actuallysay I have never physically met in person and I would still consider them among my friends.Sure, I’m not going to be able to pick up the phone and say, ‘Hey, I’m moving, can you helpme?’



But friends don’t always have to be there for you physically. So there are people that I could,if I needed to, I could call them. But I know they’re there on Facebook and we just hit it off,we just get along really good.

So those are the types of people – now they might join my business but they may bewatching. They may one day be in a position where they’re looking for an extra income andthey will want to join my business.

My business with videos that I do on my Fiverr gigs, there’s a gentleman on Facebook, he’s aclient now. He wasn’t before. He started out as just being friends on Facebook, sharingcomments, liking each other’s posts and such, and then when he saw what I do, he neededmy service.

And it wasn’t right away. But it was there because I put myself out there for people to see thatI’m a real person. I don’t all the time – sometimes I do but I don’t all the time hide behindPowerPoint slides. I don’t always hide behind screencast shots of what I’m tutoring.

I am putting myself out there and eventually I’m going to have one of those nice,little handheldthings – my son said a Kindle Fire is really good – to where I can go outside and put myselfout there while I’m outside because the weather is beautiful today.

So if you’re not able to get outside, make the best use of what you can online and market thatway.
