How to find and hire a great attorney or accountant for your web design business
LegalZoom.com
● Cheaper than hiring an attorney
● Covers many legal aspects of running a business such as:
○ Contract review
○ Operating agreements
○ Filing as legal entity (LLC, S-CORP etc.)
● Not as high-quality work as a regular attorney
● Will work perfectly fine for ‘cookie cutter’ tasks or for things you
need when you are first starting out
3 Critical questions1. Have they worked with a technology-based
business before?
2. Have they specifically worked with someone who
offers web design services?
3. Can they explain legal and financial aspects of a
web design business in plain English? (Ask for a
demonstration)
The biggest factor here is that they can explain things in a way you understand them clearly
Prior experience is not absolutely necessary - if they don’t have experience, ask them what they will do to educate themselves on the intricacies of your business
Make sure that you understand how they speak, and that you can get along with them
If you are put off by their personality - do not hire them!
