Site Investigation:Site investigation is the process of analyzing a piece of land to ensure whether it has contaminations. The procedure confirms whether any contaminations exist at the site,

locating any existing contamination and if there is any, understanding its nature and extent. The process includes analyzing samples of soil, soil gas, groundwater and surface water, etc.

Corrosion Status of Concrete Structure – Concrete corrosion is the chemical, colloidal or physicochemical deterioration and disintegration of solid concrete components and structures, caused by reactive liquids and gases.

Carbonation Depth – Cement paste has a pH of about 13 which provides a protective layer (passive coating) to the steel reinforcement against corrosion. Carbonation of the concrete, resulting from CO2 in the atmosphere, has the effect of reducing the pH.

Concrete Problem (delay setting, low strength, cracking, water seepage, ASR, Chemical attack, delayed Ettrigite) – Design of members and structures of reinforced concrete is a problem distinct from but closely related to analysis. Strictly speaking, it is almost impossible to exactly analyze a concrete structure, and to design exactly is no less difficult.

Stone Problems (breakage, pitting, discoloration, staining, cracking) – There are three major causes of deterioration in natural stone; pollutants, frost and crystallization of soluble salts. Water penetration is the main instigator of decay, and structure is the most important factor influencing the ability of stone to resist decay processes.

Staining of Building – Climate has a great effect on building material, often leading to fungal stain, harmful growth of trees, peeling paint, erosion of mortar joints and defective plastered rendering.

The Scope of our Failure Analysis Includes:Paint/Coating Defects (blistering, peeling, flaking, chalking) – A low cost paint typically has a high pigment content relative to resin content as pigment is less expensive than resin. Although a high pigment content paint has an excellent “hiding” ability, high pigment content paints with low resin contents are unable to resist exposure to sunlight and moisture.

Flooring Failure (pitting, abrasion wear, cracking, deboning , peeling) – Adhered flooring materials, such as sheet vinyl, vinyl composition tile and rubber flooring, frequently require repair or replacement because of delaminating , blistering, lifting, and cracking. The most common factor behind this includes the moisture content of the concrete and the durability of the floor finish materials when exposed to moisture are typical factors in these failures.
