How to protect a hot tub from freezing?
If you are losing heat of water in the hot tub in the cold winter season, then don’t panic, because it takes below 28 degrees Fahrenheit for a hot tub water to start to freeze. But if the water temperature is constantly going down even when the pumps are still running, then pssrobably the problem is in hot tub heater which need to be replaced to protect the hot tub from freezing in the winter season.
If you do not want your hot tub to freeze, then make sure you follow these easy instructions to fix the freezing problem.
Tips and guidelines:Before getting started, make sure the spa is not drained, if it is, then refill it.
Run the jet pumps to circulate the water, if the pump is not working, then jump to the step #3.
Place submersible pump in the center and plug in the pump and keep it running in the spa without a hose (this will circulate water in spa and transfer heat).
Now place a hot tub heater in the equipment area of your hot tub. However, make sure it does not touch any components and the spa cover is closed at all times to retain heat.
So, this is how you can protect a hot tub from freezing.
