HOSTILE CONTROL TACTICS in cooperation with a fully accredited Southern California College, proudly offers a wide range of U.S. Coast Guard approved, IMO/ISPS Code compliant maritime training courses.

All Four (4) Basic Safety Training Modules 40 Hours | A Five Day Course Course attendees will complete four modules of training that together provide 40 hours of comprehensive maritime instruction. Successful completion of all four modules satisfies certification and licensing requirements as set forth in STCW95 Code, Tables A-VI/1-1 through A-VI/1-4. The entire Basic Safety Training program (which is the entire four modules) is taught over a five (5) day period.

BASIC SAFETY TRAINING MODULES

1) PERSONAL SAFETY & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

This 4-hour training provides seafarers with a better understanding of human relationships and how they relate to living and working onboard vessels. Topics include, group behavior, personal interaction, conflict resolution, drug/alcohol abuse, sexual harassment and general personal safety.

2) BASIC FIRE FIGHTING A 16 hour training on how to react correctly in the event of a shipboard fire and use fire appliances correctly for the safety of personnel and the ship. Instruction includes practical fire-fighting training using live fire scenarios with real equipment and gear.

3) ELEMENTARY FIRST AID An 8-hour training in providing immediate basic medical care at the scene of an accident or medical emergency until the arrival of qualified medical personnel. Instruction includes fundamentals of First Aid and Emergency Care.

4) PERSONAL SURVIVAL A 12-hour training in personal survival techniques at sea. Emphasis is on skills needed to survive in the event of ship abandonment. Training includes abandonment scenarios using life rafts, life jackets and emergency radio equipment.

Proficiency In Survival Craft (Lifeboat) 32 hours | 4 Days The purpose of this course is to train personnel in the proper actions involved in taking command of, launching, and handling of a survival craft during an emergency evacuation/abandonment. Any applicant who has successfully completed the 4-day, 32-hour Proficiency in Survival Craft course will satisfy:

The Survival Craft training requirements of Section A-VI/2 and Table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Code; AND

The training requirements of 46 CFR 12.10-3 (a) (6) for any endorsements as Lifeboatman, provided that sea service requirements are also met.

Course and practical performance drills include ship abandonment, survival, lifeboat and life-raft characteristics and equipment, lifeboat davits winches and releasing mechanisms, boat handling and seamanship, launching and recovery of lifeboats, emergency signaling and helicopter rescue.

Able Seaman (AB) Any applicant who successfully completes this 40-hour Able Seaman course and who presents their Certificate of Training at a Regional Exam Center WITHIN ONE YEAR of completion of training will satisfy the examination requirements of 46 CFR 12.05-9 for the "Deck & Navigational General/Deck Safety" and "Deck General & Safety/Rules of the Road" exam modules for any Able Seaman endorsement AND the practical (knot-tying) examination requirement of 46 CFR 12.05-9 for an Able Seaman endorsement. Duration 40 hours | 5 days Tuition: $1290.00 (Overnight lodging is available to students traveling 75 miles or more from the training site) All Courses, unless otherwise indicated, will be presented at our San Diego, CA facility. 2015 Dates

Basic Safety Training

STCW Basic Training is comprised of four (4) modules of training, conducted over five days. Modules can be scheduled and taken individually, if needed. All modules are certified by the U.S. Coast Guard and meet the requirements of 46 CFR and STCW for endorsement.

16-Hour Basic Firefighting - $550.00 4-Hour Personal Safety - $210.00 8-Hour Elementary First Aid - $255.00 12-Hour Personal Survival - $460.00

All trainees will be required to sign a Release/Hold Harmless statement which includes a statement that there are no medical conditions that preclude them from participating in the course of instruction. Become CPR Qualified. All Courses, unless otherwise indicated, will be presented at our San Diego, CA facility.

Duration of Course 40 Hours | Five (5) days with class time starting at 8am until 5pm each day. Some modules extend well into the evening hours.

1. A LONG SLEEVE shirt and LONG pants are required for Firefighting and Personal Survival practical training.

2. Students participating in Firefighting Training, are required to be clean shaven in all areas where the mask of the Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) makes contact with the face.

TANKERMAN BARGE

Coast Guard regulations have changed drastically since the passing of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990.

Any applicant who successfully completes this 40-hour Tankship Dangerous Liquid course will

satisfy the training requirements of 46 CFR for Tankerman endorsement as follows:

46 CFR 13.209 Tankerman PIC endorsement

46 CFR 13.309 Tankerman Barge endorsement

46 CFR 13.409 Tankerman Assistant endorsement

46 CFR 13.509 Tankerman Engineer endorsement

46 CFR 10.227 Satisfies the renewal requirements for MMD endorsed as Tankerman PIC

AND the Tankerman familiarization, oil tanker and chemical tanker training requirements of

paragraph 1-21 of Section A-V/1 of the STCW Code.

SHIPBOARD SECURITY OFFICER | VESSEL

SECURITY OFFICER

This three (3) day course is designed to prepare Mariners to

work abroad as a fully qualified and certified Vessel Security Officer | Shipboard Security Officer. This course is approved by the United States Coast Guard and covers all compensatory learning requirements for VSO/SSO certification and mandated by the International Maritime Organization.

LOCATION

Training is conducted in Long Beach, California. Course attendees will receive a discounted group

rate through Hostile Control Tactics at several nearby major hotels.

It is our policy to book two (2) persons in each room. Each room is equipped with cable

television and premium channels, a refrigerator, microwave, and complimentary high-speed

wireless Internet access.

A complimentary full-course breakfast is served each morning.

BENEFITS OF COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of training an individual will earn a Certificate of Competency and

become qualified to perform duties on international waters.

Rule of Law: All persons employed as a Maritime Shipboard Security Officer must have on

their possession "internationally acceptable" evidence of qualifications.

HOW TO ENROLL

When submitting a Course Enrollment Application, please include the following documents with your application:

A scanned color copy of a a valid travel passport (black and white copies are not accepted)

A scanned color copy of a valid motor vehicle driver's licence OR secondary government issued Identification Card

Proof of a medical health assessment affirming basic good health (no serious heart condition, no high blood pressure), no sexually transmitted diseases, good vision and hearing

Proof of Yellow Fever vaccination

Proof of a local and national criminal background check that reflects no felony criminal history.

Proof of prior service military, police or commercial security work experience

Advanced Firefighting (36 hours | One Week)

Duration: 40 Hours | 5 days Tuition: $1,450.00 USD.

This is an advanced Marine Fire Fighting course designed to meet STCW Regulation VI/3 Advanced Fire Fighting.

Topics for this 40 hr. training includes: training of seafarers in firefighting, ventilation control including smoke extraction, monitoring and control stability during firefighting, response of bridge, deck and engine room watch officers to emergencies, emergency response team leadership, plan of attack for on-scene firefighting leaders, co-ordination of shipboard firefighting, co-ordination with shore-based fire fighters, care of injured people, fixed fire detection and extinguishing installations, inspection and maintenance of emergency equipment, incident investigation and reporting, crowd management, search and rescue and communications.

(Scheduled as needed) This is a 32 hour/3 day program is designed to enable the participant to meet the requirements of STCW 95 Ch VI, Section A-VI/4-1 Table A-VI/4-1. Upon completion the participant will be able to demonstrate a higher level of competency to take action upon encountering an accident or medical emergency as required by the code. Through instructor directed presentations and practical sessions the program presents topics including Immediate Action to be taken in an Emergency, Body Structure and Function, Toxicological hazards aboard ship, Medical care of rescued persons, Cardiac Arrest, Burns, Fractures and Dislocations, Spinal Injuries and immobilization, Administration of Medications, Maintaining a healthy environment aboard ship and use of Medical Advisory Services.
