Story Summary
A Libyan trader contacted Bronze Wing Trading to avail Bank Comfort Letter – BCL Bank to facilitate the importation of their drilling rigs deal. We clearly understand the requirement of the trader and issued the required Letter of Comfort on behalf of their company to prove their financial status to their supplier.
The Client’s Requirement
An Oil and Gas Company in Libya had a requirement to purchase drilling rigs to maximize their oil production to meet the emerging global oil demands. They received a quotation from leading drilling rig exporters all over the world. Among them, an exporter from US provided the reliable quote. So, the Libyan trader decided to procure the machineries from the US Exporter. But before signing the contract, the exporter asked the trader to provide Comfort Letter to find out whether the trader was eligible to proceed further or not. So, the trader started working on the process to avail BCL MT799.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge for the Client is to avail BCL MT799 from reliable trade finance providers. Since the buyer faced few financial constraints, they were not eligible to avail BCL from their bank. So, they searched Google to find the ways to avail Letter of Comfort. While searching online, they came across with an Advertisement posted by us. They contacted us via email stating their BCL requirement for their rig deal.
The Solution
Once we received the request from the buyer, our team did a careful study on their request to find out whether they are eligible to proceed or not. Since they comply with all our terms, we approved their request & asked them to sign the service agreement. The Client signed the agreement & paid the admin charges along with issuance fee charges. Our bank structured the BCL as per their deal & sent the BCL draft to us for the client’s approval. After the client’s approval, we instructed our bank to issue the Letter of Comfort to the Supplier’s bank via authenticated Swift MT799.
