What is Hexa?

Hexa is a theme on WordPress which gives your personal blog a fun and fresh experience.

Hexa helps you create an eye-catching blog that highlight your best finds in colorful style, and the responsive design looks great on any device, large or small.


Let’s take a quick tour to view the Hexa Theme

This will appear on your screen.


This icon leads you to the Menu


And the Menu Bar will appear on top of your page


The magnifying glass icon leads you to the Search Bar.


The gear icon links to the widgets


The heart icon connects to your social networks.


Post Formats and Sticky Posts

The Post Formats and Sticky Posts are accented with different corresponding colors and icons next to the post content.

Hexa includes a widget located behind a gear icon in the header.

You can add up to three columns of widgets under Appearance → Widgets:

To add the widget follow these simple steps:1. Go to your Dashboard.

2. Click on “Appearance”

There are a lot of widgets to choose from.

You can use three widgets when using the Hexa theme.

Choose your desired widget.

To activate a widget you have 2 options:1. Drag it to a sidebar

When you click on a desired widget, assign a Sidebar, then click “Add widget”.

The gear icon is now visible on my blog, which links to the widgets.

Social Links

You can add links to various social networks to a toggle menu (the heart icon).

To add links follow these steps:1. Create a new Custom Menu, and assign it to

the Social Links Menu location.2. Add links to each of your social services

using the Links panel.

To create a custom menu, go to Appearance → Menus in your dashboard.

To create a new menu, click the create a new menu link, then just type in a Menu Name (to help you remember what it is), and click the Create Menu button.

After you create your first menu, you will notice that two new options appear to control the following:

a. Auto add pages – If checked, new pages will be added automatically when you create them.

b. Theme locations – Allows you to decide where you would like your custom menu to appear in your theme. By default, your menu will show up in the main navigation area of your theme. However, you can select a different location if your theme is capable of multiple menus.

Choose your desired setting by clicking on the check box.

Then click “Save Menu”

The Heart Icon which connects to your Social Links will now appear on your blog.

Type in the URL where you want to take someone when they click on it, add Link Text to specify what the tab will say, and then click Add to Menu.

Once added to the menu, you will notice that Twitter is now included in the Menu Structure Pane.

Click “Save Menu” to update your Menu Settings.

Icons for your social links will automatically appear when you click the heart icon in the header.


Custom Menus

Hexa includes one Custom Menu in addition to the Social Links menu. The main navigation is located behind a toggle menu icon in the header (look for the three horizontal lines):


Now, let’s try to use this theme.




Click “Activate”


This will appear on your screen
