Samuel Smith, a captain of the militia in Massachusetts, great-grandfather of Joseph and Hyrum Smith and fifth great-grandfather of Grandpa Fife.

Micah Eldredge, Mansfield, Connecticut, is Gramps Lyon’s fourth great-grandfather. Micah was the father of Alanson Eldredge who joined the Church in Indiana in 1836, lived in Missouri and Nauvoo and crossed the plains to Utah
