Samuel Smith, a captain of the militia in Massachusetts, great-grandfather of Joseph and Hyrum Smith and fifth great-grandfather of Grandpa Fife.

Micah Eldredge, Mansfield, Connecticut, is Gramps Lyon’s fourth great-grandfather. Micah was the father of Alanson Eldredge who joined the Church in Indiana in 1836, lived in Missouri and Nauvoo and crossed the plains to Utah

William Johnson Snyder, Grammy Lyon’s great-grandfather, and his brother-in-law David Maynard served in the Minnesota cavalry. David died while serving.
